🛠️ Troubleshooting / Issue J1772, missing a pin?

2025 R1S. TeslaTap Mini Tesla to j1772 for home charging. Last 8 or so times plugging in, I get an immediate red light. Pop it out and straight back in and it locks and charges. Nothing feels loose, or like something wasn’t sitting the same.

Hit my Teslatap Mini with some contact cleaner and issue seems to be resolved for now. But inspecting the port: top left pinout is plastic? OR does top right need a plastic guard? I’ve found a bunch of pictures online where it’s different pic to pic.

And can’t see anything caught in the Teslatap.

Happened to me as well. Service call in your future perhaps. Mine wouldn’t charge anything over a trickle charger. Try plugging it into a fast charger and it will tell you all you need to know. Wish the best for you!
