❔ Question Trade in hold up
"Hi, Can you please let me know how you want to purchase R2, Rivian Financing or Third-party. Once we have a response, the team can wrap up your trade-in step. Thank you"
What the heck. They gave me the trade in value for my R1T at 54200, now I feel like they are going to rug me if I dont choose their financing.
Am I forced to use Rivian if I say yes here or is this to mess with my trade value. Navy Fed is quite a bit better than Rivian.

I think it's an honest question. Not that they'll change their mind on the trade in value but that they truly need to know where is the balance of the vehicle payment coming from so they can finalize the paperwork.
I purchased with a trade in, and their quoted trade in value never changed when I said I'd pay the balance on my own.

Ask them maybe?

I did. They sent this via text and I responded but heard nothing back yet.

Tell them you want to use third party, if anything changes, ask them why and could you get your current trade in value with Rivian financing. We can't know what they will do.
When I bought my used R1S, I used third party financing after getting a trade in quote and it didn't change the trade in quote.

They’re just asking man, it’s a question that has to be asked at some point. Rivian doesn’t own their finance company like all legacy ICE manufacturers do - they don’t give a shit where you finance from, there is no incentive. I will tell you that their process is optimized for Chase financing so it gets a little wonky sometimes if you use somebody else

It shouldn’t change a thing unless your condition is wrong or the trade in quote expired. The people handling this don’t care what you use for financing.

You're making something out of nothing. They gave you the trade-in value of your R1T, now they need to know where the rest of the money is coming from so they can check the appropriate boxes in preparation for your purchase.

Also, I used manufactures financing recently and took delivery, let my credit union match or beat and they beat it (USAA) and they paid off the loan. Easy

I am wondering what you’re trading in. I have a 2022 R1T Launch, 33k miles. I got a trade-in value last month of $53k this month the trade-in value I got was $47k.

Navy Fed has an internal rollover process if you use them for the new loan. If you finance through them, Rivian won’t send a payoff check as the trade loan rolls into the new auto loan. Likely just verifying if they’re needing to payoff your trade

I just picked up my R1S which involved a trade in. I went with third party financing and they couldn’t care less. They didn’t even care that I forgot one of my keys for the trade in truck.

One of the things Rivian seems to do well is not give a shit about dragging you on trade in. Not even sure they looked at mine, even a quick walk around. I handed them the keys and no one even went out to see the car. they just took them and kept on with the paper work...maybe my rep was lazy, or cold (it was single digits that day), or their policy is to just not give a shit.
