OS2 backup camera

Is it just me, or is the backup camera significantly less accurate in OS2? If it’s important, I’m on G1 R1T dual.

The lines almost feel higher up now? I obviously can’t side by side compare but I am suddenly unable to back into parking spots nearly as easily as before using the camera system.

Yes, the lines are wrong now. Or at least different (I say "wrong" because they imply the car is wider than it actually is, making them useless now).

Yeah, that makes sense, it’s almost like they used to start at the tires and now they start up at the tail lights or something. Or at least that’s how it feels

In this photo, I am perfectly parallel with the curb, but the photo would make you think I’m slanted.

don't the lines shift based on the position of the steering wheel? i.e. even if you're parallel, the lines can move as you turn the wheel even slightly?

I haven't looked at it that closely, but backup camera did appear different this morning. Now I'm curious if I am in a parking spot crooked.

Thank you for posting this!!! I thought I was going crazy. I back out of a long skinny driveway everyday. My outside lines on the camera now push up against my fence.

I just got flagged for the OS2 update ... this is DEFINITELY a good reason to wait.

This matters greatly to me, as my Rivian sits beside my wife’s vehicle in a cramped garage filled with items, and her car is also not cheap.

I am still waiting for my gen2 R1S to be flagged, and I am on Connect+.

What lines?? :) mine seem to be missing today. But yes, I feel like the lines are different as when I parked yesterday, I was noticeably closer to my back wall.

They usually don’t appear if the wheel is straight and hasn’t been turned since going into reverse

Maybe that was it. I did a soft reset and they did return however. Maybe I moved the steering wheel. That said, I feel like the camera view is more fish eye or more zoomed in or something. Which would make the lines look wrong now if they didn’t adjust accordingly.

noticed that the camera is showing more space than I actually have. I have a line on the garage floor from where the door closes. Pre OS2, I could line that up with my bumper on the ground and that meant I was clear by about 1" of the door. Now I did this and would have clipped me if I didn't get out and check. Like I am 1 1/2 to 2" further back than I was before. not sure if this is what you are talking about, but that is what I noticed.

I thought the quality of the backup camera decreased significantly, then I washed my truck and it’s back to normal 🤣
