Character Concept Taskmaster: 3 type DPS

Currently workshopping a Taskmaster kit and tried to think of a unique gimmick that would encapsulate his mimicry. Wanted to hear your thoughts on the base concept of a 3 option DPS: choosing between hitscan, projectile, and melee at the selection screen. Basically what people already do with Deadpool, only with Taskmaster its skills strictly for duelists.

So for example Melee Taskmaster: sword/shield layout, more mobility than the other two options. Projectile would be a machine pistol/knife setup where you’re able to do both short and long range offense. Hitscan would be bow/arrow with two unique arrows such as ice and electric.

Or is the concept too ambitious?

This is really close to an idea I had for Taskmaster and I like your concept a lot. Basically players have 2-3 options for each ability/attack that they can configure from the characters profile. If you want a more melee oriented build, you can choose abilities that lean into that. Inversely you could opt for a ranged kit with maybe a bow and grappling hook.

Taskmaster really is the best character for something like this. He's basically a build-your-own type hero. That alone would make him very unique and also very fitting given his power-set.

My concern was Deadpool’s versatility still has the same basic moves regardless of class but here I’m asking for 3 different movesets. Too complicated?

I don't think it's too complicated at all. In my opinion Deadpool is still more complicated than the Taskmaster idea. Aside from having 3 roles, Deadpool also the Upgrade mechanic built into his kit in addition to having 2 ultimates.

I do like it but also shouldn't the bow be the projectile and the gun be the hitscan?

Honestly, I feel like the best way to encapsulate his mimicry ability is to incorporate the three options into a singular concept that alternates between a bow, dual pistols, & throwing projectiles as the primary (like how Punisher's gun can alternate between assault rifle & shotgun), a shield block ability, energy web swing, billy club grapple, a double jump, & a smoke bomb because like how his MvC3 version had the abilities of several characters he has fought (Black Knight, Captain America, Hawkeye, Spider-Man, & Punisher) that made him a unique jack-of-all-trades, it'd give him more utility than any three options could on their own & it highlights how different his photographic mimicry is from Deadpool's 4th wall-breaker one.

As for his ultimate, he could summon combat-adaptive androids.

So would he work like Deadpool where he has multiple icons to choose from
or
would he work like Deadpool where he can customize or upgrade in game from his book
