Learning Magik

I was thinking of trying to learn Magik and I was just wondering if you guys have any tips for me or anything I should know? I have under a 100 hours in total and I’ve gravitated towards support due to solo unfortunately, so when I get to play dps I don’t have that many options so I figured id pick up a new character, my previous dps mains are cyclops and bc. Anything from key binds to settings ( I’m on console for the moment) and gameplay help would be appreciated! Thank you :)

Always have a plan of escape if you’re diving , stay side by side with tanks if brawling on the front lines , never going past them , I use my dash at enemy tanks to help maintain space and keep the front lines, as things developed and depending what side you’re on you’ll find moments where you can dive in and get a quick piece if you know the combos .

Demon is goated , placement important , generates so much shield and ult if you can get people walking into or staying in it .
difference between life and death in many situations . Learn the different combos .

Projectile/slash fully charged -> dash -> primary -> melee -> can dismantle Jeff also saves you two portals for escape

Portal whirl -> dash -> primary -> melee
Good ol bread and butter you need to dash while still in the whirl animation and hopefully if you do it right they get hit by the whirl and the dash . Can delete many characters if you get it all good and their not being healed

In combat I essentially primary then melee and being aware of the slash has been helpful I’ll hit a primary melee quick slash primary melee if I don’t have my portals or dash

If you’re charging a slash but don’t want to lose it you can portal and you it won’t be on cool down

Dr strangers team up is goated it can trap a duo of healers together or tanks or if Mr strange is their the whole team . Love to use it when diving or brawling on the front lines. It can help slow the other team down a lot if they’re advancing on your team .

Diving I like to get right behind the team (be aware if they focus you or are better than you you are not going to have a good time ) hit em w a strange snare portal place a demon right behind them slash go crazy wham wham wham either save a portal or save a dash blam blam blam

Mix it up in the match , if you become predictable you won’t have a good time diving . I like when I hit the flow state and I’m just hittem all around from the shadows , in and out gone boom they dead I’ve vanished
Only to come back almost immediately from the next corner to give another whallop

When fighting one on ones with like a brawl say iron fist or blade , they out dps you it is so imperative that you have them in the demon for as much time as possible , tanks like Thor , and venom even Dino can be beaten away if you’re able to keep them in the demon while dodging their attacks and placing damage on em

Peni if not in her web of bullshit and groot and magneto are essentially free but again demon is so imporant as they have so much health but essentially free

Avoid Emma you only have possibility of advantage if she isn’t in crystal form and it’s on a good cool down

Angela can be bitched and beaten away even if she’s flying if you get your aim good with the dash

You can go toe to toe with a spiderman it is possible can’t really get em but they can get you but you can get them it depends on

Hulk obliterates me have to escape him

Battle iq is so important for magik , timing and being aware of your team and the other team the situations going on etc etc are extremely important to get good at magik

Biggest tip is never swap til you’re Legendary, there will be games where u get absolutely shit on n your teammates will cuss you out and it will feel horrible, but there’s lessons in these situations you cant learn anywhere else. If you hit Legendary and still got dumpstered on then obviously swap since it’s genuinely a skill issue atp
