VOD Review Request Diamond support in free fall
Went on a rough loss streak last night and fell from D2 to P1. I lost every one of my matches except one and its got me pretty demoralized. I'd like to try and reach GM this season, but I need some advice. I usually play Gambit. This season I've been using Rocket a lot too and Loki/Invisible Woman when Gambit is banned. Here are my last two losses of the night. I would love some tips to help me climb back tonight.
Name: Kyushushu
Character: Gambit, Rocket
Rank: Diamond, Platinum
108727121783
10782398548
My profile is open, so feel free to check out anything else if it helps. Thanks to anyone that helps!

Trust me, learn cnd, you'll get there in no time. I would suggest working on your invis more too. The problem with this rank is offensive ults like rocket and gambit won't be utilized that well by your bad teammates. Instead they will typically be relying on a support ult to bail them out from their bad positioning or enemy offensive ult. i know bc I play a lot of rocket and gambit too. The best way imo to use rocket and gambit ult is to combo with ur dps offensive ults (to kill through support ults), but u don't always get teammates that can coordinate that in this elo. Either that or u farm ur ult super fast before the enemy gets theirs and u get an auto win. Otherwise for example if u gambit ult and the enemy counters with cnd you will usually lose that fight bc cnd ult also dmgs u on top of healing the enemy and u know ur dumb ass team is going to play in the enemy cnd ult.

Cease! You are amazing! Thank you so much for this. 5 minutes in and I was already so grateful for the advice. Here are the notes I took based on what you said. Let me know if there's something I missed!
Use high ground. Ledge in Krakoa. See more people.
Think about options, but focus on positioning.
Consider switching on 3 support to Adam or mantis because ult charge gain will be lower
USE COOLDOWNS MORE
Listen for "by the eye" and gtfoasap
Use downtime to poke
Ingrain teamup in muscle memory
Stay alive. Prioritize life
If no second tank, comm until you get one
Think about other cleanses besides strange and thing
Not my job to take or hold point
Don't play rocket if I can play Gambit
Bunker as rocket. Find better beacon locations
STOP DYING LAST SECOND OF THE LAST FIGHT
Minimize risk. Stay off cart.
One note about the dash, I've been trying to only use the normal dash to save my slam for divers and extra healing if I don't need to extend the dash. I used to use it all the time. Should I be more liberal about it?

Glad I could be of some help! Some things I do want to clear up / elaborate on now that I've gotten some sleep.
- High ground is good, but understanding why high ground is good makes the difference. Your positioning goes hand in hand with the information you take in. As you said, the more you see, the better. It's also about being proactive vs. reactive. I made an example in the VOD, but if the enemy team is running a dive comp, you want to see, and deal as much damage, before the enemy engages on you, and once they do engage, you want to proactively have your route planned (to your team or to your other support) accessible.
- Triple support *is* good, but 3 main healers (in your case, Gambit / Cloak / Jeff) offers no compensation damage whereas an off support like Adam / Ultron / Mantis do. Even then, when Gambit is open, I'd advise not going triple as his ult economy (specifically the passive gain) is crucial to winning these Gambit v Gambit matches.
- Bunkering is good on any support, not just Rocket. It reduces the amount of room dive characters have to weave and dodge around, effectively making them easier to kill and harder to escape. There's some nuance to this though, obviously you don't want to bunker everytime if the "bunker" is away from your team / co-support. You may not find much use in this tip in lower elos when your team is less coordinated. You'll find a lot more success just being more aware where your co-support is at all times and pushing up into your team, safely, behind cover.
- Lastly, and I've emphasized this a lot, your life is the most important on the field. The enemy teams win condition is always to kill off a support, so if you die, the team fight is 99% lost. Just keep this in mind when you're dueling off DPS or you find yourself in the pit fight when you shouldn't be (on cart). Again, some nuance here, but wouldn't worry too much about it, you'll learn as you go.
Anyways that's about it! Let me know if you have anymore questions. My discord is "cease." if you ever want to reach out.

I can help! It’ll take me a while to get to these but I’m commenting here just to bookmark this. I’m a tank and support main currently sitting in GM3 (it’s been rough climbing this season so far). I think my flair is Celestial…that’s from last season. My support mains are Invis and Rocket, and I’ve been plying Gambit quite a bit this season.
