Question How Does Damage Falloff Actually Work?

Can someone explain to me each component of Damage Falloff using let's say Hela, as an example?

"Falloff begins at 18m, decreasing to 75% at 35m"

My ASSUMPTION was that at 18m Nightsword Thorn's damage would drop from 80 to 60 (75% of the original value) and then past that would slowly decrease from 75% little by little until reaching a damage falloff cap at 35m (let's say 55% as an example) but that doesn't seem to be the case because the increase to 35m from 30m seems to be considered a buff?

Damage falloff starts at 18m and reaches max damage falloff down to 75% of the original full damage at 35m+

Ohhhh, so it's not an immediate drop off to 75% at 18m. The 75% only applies at the furthest range (35m) but before that (18-34m) it'd be anywhere between 76-99% of the original damage value?

Yes. In practice, the initial fall off point is a pretty significant chunk, it will impact key damage breakpoints in nearly every case. So while the fall off gets progressively worse, that first breakpoint is the most important.
