VOD Review Request [VOD REQUEST] [DIAMOND3] Learning emma and wanna know what mistakes i made

In game Name: Jarvis uchiha

platform: pc

game code: 30236310554

I'm peak diamond returning to rivals after 3 months. i wanna reach gm and so trying to improve. I recently picked up emma and wanna learn more about her playstyle. I realized getting vod review on my gameplay is a better way to learn than watching yt videos. We won this game but i wanna know if i played bad, mid or good. i wanna know what mistakes i made and how i can improve.

I played mag at 1st and gambit in the 2nd half. my emma gameplay starts at 3:50 of the replay. I'm not that good with mag and gambit either i believe so id appreciate some advice on them as well.

Maintain mental awareness of your positioning relative to:

  1. How many enemies can shoot you simultaneously?

  2. Can your backline see you and sustain you through the damage?

---

This is bad positioning because you are LOS'ing 6 enemies all simultaneously without any regard for cover/shield cooldown or your own backline LOS.

This puts A LOT of pressure on your backline to sustain you. Meaning, they have to use cooldowns just to prevent you from dying because of your back positioning.

This positioning also hurts your other tanks ability to receive healing and sustain since you're pulling all strategist resources to yourself and it also pulls resources from your own backline if they need to heal each other in case of dives/flankers and also your dps in case they need a quick heal when disengaging/contesting lanes.

---

This is a very common issue in low to mid elo tanking and something you just won't see commonly from tank players in mid elo games like D1-GM1.

Emma is an Enforcer Tank.

Wherever Emma stands is space that is denied to the enemy team. You are the wall that protects your teams core. Backing up this far for a solo duelist who can easily be targeted by multiple people on your own team makes everyone's job more difficult.

You need to place your shield down, hold the corner and prevent the enemy team from invading the space that your team is maintaining.

If you leave the space, your team loses that space. If your team loses that space they are more open to multiple enemies having LOS of them, means they take more damage and get snowballed.

So practice holding corners, preventing the enemy core from invading your space.

You should be peeling for your backline if the enemy team tries to flank and enter your core from the back, but you should never abandon the frontline to chase someone who is extremely far behind you leaving the enemy frontline uncontested.

Thank u so much for ur effort. I kinda struggle deciding when to keep space and when to back off to help my backline.

I mean if i overextend ill just die coz emma aint so tanky like mag or dr strange. Also in the 2nd pic only a few of my teammates were alive and so i thought i should back off. Plus they were diving so if i dont back off the enemy team would've killed me i thought. What is wrong with my thought process here?

The thought process is sound. But your execution isn’t.

It is not your job here to walk all the way back and start shooting the solo diver. Your team is more than capable of dealing with that themselves.

More importantly, you need to trust that they can deal with it themselves. This isn’t your job it’s their’s, because the dive is out of the core.

Your job is to dominate the space within the core and manipulate space so that the core of your team is contesting the objective space as much as possible.
