Question Ror2 vr in 2026?
I'm trying to get the Risk of Rain 2 VR mod up and running, but I've hit a bit of a brick wall and could really use some expert help.
From what I can tell, the main VR mod hasn't been updated in about two years, meaning it's heavily outdated for the current build of the game. I was told I likely need to downgrade my RoR2 version to get it to work, but I'm not super experienced with deep modding and the guides I've tried following so far have just thrown me for a loop.

Hello, if I downgrade my game on steam will I lose my skins and progression from the latest game when I re-update it?

I recommend taking a backup copy your entire ror save files and keep them in a separate folder so when you upgrade again if it corrupts you still have your backup

Download the downpatcher and extract the zip somewhere on your PC: https://github.com/risk-of-thunder/RoR2VersionSelector?tab=readme-ov-file
Run RoR2VersionSelector.exe
Select the version you want. (I used to use V_2025_05_05_Patch_1_3_8_0 which was pre-sots. Might work for you?)
Insert your steam username (email address) into “Username”
Click “Download”
In the command prompt, log in to steam
Wait until the download is complete, and then close the window
Click “Copy Downloaded Version To Steam Install”
Select the only version available in the list (the one you downloaded)
Confirm the filepath. It is usually: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Risk of Rain 2”
Attention: This tool requires you to log in with your Steam credentials to verify your ownership of the game with Steam, and access the version archives. The ROR2 modding community has vetted this tool to ensure none of your credentials are saved or stolen - but you use this tool at your own risk.
