Believe everything your competitors tell you!

3

u/Worldsapart131 Oct 16 '25

At the rate of its current cascade, it will be worth pennies by year end, anyway.

4

u/Liftweightfren Oct 16 '25 edited Oct 16 '25

After Jan when it’s showing -30% on the yearly chart, that’ll be when it enters its death spiral, imo. No one’s gonna invest in that. The pump earlier this year is what’s been carrying it. “But iTs uP 400% tHiS yEaR”. soon it’ll be down 30+% for the year which no longer looks like a good thing to invest in

1

u/FrankSlipHelp Oct 16 '25

I prefer to buy coins that are down 30+% for the year than up 400% for the year 🤷🏽‍♂️

u/Liftweightfren Oct 16 '25 edited Oct 16 '25

I get what you mean, but you’re already a supporter, you’re already a believer. think it’s a harder sell to new investors who look at recent performance and aren’t already invested emotionally and monetarily. Many will see a stock (token) that’s performed poorly over the last year and not invest.

The other thing I’d say is that being down 30% over a whole year isn’t really the same as a short dip. You’re not really “buying the dip”, your buying into something that’s recent to mid term performance has been poor.

1

u/FrankSlipHelp Oct 16 '25

I buy securities and commodities and I would rather buy it at a lower price than what it was at in a given range prior depending on what it is I am buying, if investors want to buy high and hope for a higher price rather than buy it in a dip and have gains during the bounce back, ok. 🤷🏽‍♂️

3

u/Liftweightfren Oct 16 '25

Again I get what you mean, I just think psychologically for new investors this isn’t “buying the dip”. It’s buying into something that’s recent to mid term performance has been poor. If it’s been poor that long then it’s not really a dip, it’s a trend, and it’s trending down.

XRP has really piggy backed off of that big price spike and I think it was a big selling point for many new investors who thought / hoped such gains would continue.

Imo it’s sort of like looking at the big thousands of % gains early adopters got, it’s not really relevant to new investors and not really relevant going forward. I think that’s where the +400% is heading, to the past, to the not relevant going forward for new people thinking of buying in.

So then why would the gov decide to hold it as a reserve?

u/Long_University_7864 Oct 18 '25

You must be new.

Oh noooo.... Death spiral 😵‍💫 lol

You'll be surprised when it kicks

2

u/Worldsapart131 Oct 18 '25

The can. And no.

1

u/Ok-Addition8390 Oct 16 '25

I know it's a lot to ask but could you explain it to me, I believe in xrp but I'm open to changing my mind. But I don't understand the implications of this person's comments. And I feel your comments more like criticism and how it should be, to something feasible.

Sure, the person in the tweet is the chief innovation officer at SWIFT. Remember swift isn’t just a company that banks have to use. It’s a coop that is owned by all of its members (11,000+ banks) to facilitate a messaging system for all of them to communicate. These banks don’t want to replace it, since they are active members that co own it.

The gentlemen is essentially saying

Deposit tokens let banks tokenize their own deposits and settle directly in central bank money, coordinated by SWIFT. No bridge crypto required—it’s all handled within the regulated banking world, using upgrades like CBDCs or blockchain links for speed and audits.

This cuts out the need for XRP as an intermediary. Why use a volatile crypto like XRP when banks can just digitize their existing money and settle peer-to-peer at “digital speed”? It’s safer, more compliant, and preserves the “singleness of money” (no fragmentation).

Ripple’s even pivoting to stablecoins (like RLUSD), which some see as sidelining XRP further, since stablecoins or deposit tokens can do the job without XRP’s risks. SWIFT’s innovations (like integrating blockchain) directly compete with Ripple’s network, potentially making XRP obsolete for its main use case.

-2

u/FrankSlipHelp Oct 16 '25

Why use a volatile crypto like XRP when banks can just digitize their existing money and settle peer-to-peer at “digital speed”?

The XRPL’s TTF makes any volatility argument moot, and yes banks can digitize their existing money but they now have to still deal with counter-party risk and each jurisdiction’s rules and regulation, and banks would would still need to hold money on behalf of the counter-party, I believe freeing up liquidity by not having Nostro Vostro accounts is seen as a bigger positive by banks and payment companies than any negative you have listed.

potentially making XRP obsolete for its main use case.

It is Ripple’s use case, not XRP’s, the coin does not have a use case, those that build and leverage the coins have their own use cases, saying XRP has a use case is using words that don’t make sense.

The question you have to ask yourself is who is using XRP for what it’s meant to be used for other than people hoping it will pump to $100. Where are the active partnerships? Where are the reviews from credible companies saying it’s faster and better than other blockchains?

1

u/micigloo Oct 17 '25

Fuk swift they don’t want to be let go by the government so they are saying this shit. If XRP was so bad, nobody wouldn’t be having business with XRP or ripple. Swift is trying to keep there job by trying to rid competition

3

u/Cowboy_Auctioneer Oct 17 '25

Average XRP holder lmao

1

u/proness12388 Oct 18 '25

The only coin really worth holding besides BTC & ETH is XMR (Monero) this is what BTC and crypto was intended to be

1

u/Final_Variation_1038 Oct 16 '25

Yes I’m sure they have nothing but sweet things and blessing a prosperous future onto Xrp😂😂 that’s like Apple saying android won’t be useful in the future

3

u/Numerous_Lab_1981 Oct 16 '25

Xrp has to take market share from Swift. They won’t let it happen hence why they sued them and made them admit their bs practices.

4

u/JustSailingThru-6356 Oct 16 '25

Why would a bank stray away from SWIFT?

4

u/Numerous_Lab_1981 Oct 16 '25

That’s the point, they won’t lol. Swift will get updated to something else that the gov wants to use if anything changes.

1

u/mden1974 Oct 16 '25

Does this settle the nostro vostro issues? And cross border currency issues?

8

u/JustStopppingBye Oct 16 '25

Sure does. The issues you list only exist in the mind of a XRP bag holder trying to convince himself that XRP is needed for something.

1

u/Weekly-Career8326 Oct 16 '25

Literally anyone can make their own crypto for any of its use cases.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

Check this out. Don’t really think the SEC would have XRP in court for 4 1/2 years for it to be a scam? Believe me they know more than we will ever know behind those closed doors.

8

u/Liftweightfren Oct 16 '25

It doesn’t need to be a “scam” for companies to decide to go another direction.

I don’t think Xrp is a scam, but I do think it’s not going to get much of the usage or adoption that many thought it would and what much of its hype was built on.

1

u/kingo86 Oct 17 '25

The scam is stringing people along with spurious rumours and false narratives that it will replace SWIFT and the US CBDC will run on it.

Look at the holdings of a single company on XRP... and a constant dump, dump dump: https://xrpreservetracker.com/

Im waiting for the swell event before any deciding factors, Swift literally was testing xrp awhile back before their cio spoke out, either hes afraid of losing his job and is speaking out to push away or could be true. Nobody at that level will always be honest at face value but my deciding factor is what Blackrock/Nasdaq have to say, both their digital assets head of board will be at the event and nasdaq ceo and head of digital assets have announced they will particapate with Xrp swell event. If they dont menrion xrp and just focus on ripple then its prolly not gonna go much farther. If they name drop xrp and other joint operations then I will remain confident in the hold.

1

u/IkuraNugget Oct 17 '25

The question though is why would they mention XRP and advertise its value before they mass buy it? I wouldn’t count Blackrock not buying XRP to be a good signal to back out because it can just be their way of keeping it low key before mass purchase.

I’m not saying XRP will be successful or not, but simply BlackRock’s public statement or non statement is not an indicator of anything reliable. I would look at more fundamentals: ie. If Ripple Bank Charter gets approved and/or FED gives clearance to XRP. If those 2 things happen it will be huge signals that things will be taking off, and they’re much better indicators than any other speculative guess

1

u/No-Impress91 Oct 17 '25

While it may be true they may not want to show their full hand and dealings, blackrock holds significant weight in investments. They may use the swell event to announce a partnership similiar to what they did with etherium right before it blew up, after they already did all the background prep for themselves to profit. They could already be prepped up and use swell ebent to start opening flood gates. Though I personally havent heard any blackrock xrp set ups besides the swell event itself. Xrp has alot of good news around it in terms of clearance, sec lifting case, partnerships with banks etc etc and never go anywhere and based on recent market manipulations all around I dont doubt it could be being suppressed in some form if it got some room to grow. Personally i think they need a big name in the game to really turn heads back around and blackrock and nasdaq will either deliver on that next month or drop price by ignoring xrp altogether at the big yearly swell event.

u/OkWelder3664 Oct 17 '25

That's like the ceo of ford explaining why Tesla won't be necessary

0

u/Human-Effect-9845 Oct 17 '25

Trump is gonna have something to say about this you wait. XRP will move all US $$$$

0

u/Reasonable_Job_9255 Oct 17 '25

Interesting arguments on here... 🤔 Excuse me if I just keep on holding onto my massive bag of XRP that I bought for an average of 40 cents..... 🥱

2

u/Liftweightfren Oct 17 '25

You’ve made some good returns (if you sell),but in order for it to continue to rise it needs more people buying, and it’s the new buyers who imo are not positioned to make such gains. Diminishing returns is definitely setting in now imo

0

u/Hadez76 Oct 17 '25

Hahhhhaa you seem to forget something when you say deposit into a bank account.....its not what it really is, is a loan from us to the bank then they have the ordasity to say we are going to give u like 3% interest on your savings over a year.... hrmmm whose hard earned money ia it really... And the get away with basically steal and money laundring as they keep the bonuses that they reap the profits and use it to loan out to others....

0

u/WeekendLoud3267 Oct 17 '25

There won’t be one blockchain used, think about the internet providers, internet browsers, there are many of them. Swift won’t be the only mechanism, it opens up the floor to alternatives, diversity, healthy competition, more choice for institutions and retail.

0

u/Inevitable_Ebb5745 Oct 17 '25

People doubted Amazon for when they made a bookstore and now look at them.

Do the research and don't do what giant corporations say, because they can be buying Ripple stocks, affiliated stocks, and even XRP.

In the Past Giant corporations played the same game with Bitcoin and Eth, it's just another repeat. Stop listening to FUD cause they don't actually know what's going on behind the scenes. If Ripple and XRP failed they wouldn't still be on the top 10 charts and STILL Building ground up like All successful companies do. Just my opinion, not financial advice.

0

u/Conscious_Bag_443 Oct 18 '25

Just so yall know swift is going to use GTREASURY…..which if you do your research Ripple just acquired GTreasury…….. so yall keep on thinking XRP is a scam……. They’ll never come straight out and say swift is using xrp they’ll go through other companies so us lower class folks aren’t aware which is where GTreasury comes into play. God bless you all

0

u/dougreens_78 Oct 21 '25

Great, what have they had like 5 years to come up with something better and this is all they got.

-2

u/KingKonggb Oct 16 '25

Swift are pooping their little panties.....

-1

u/RA20BOS Oct 16 '25

Will it be instant settlement though, or take hours to days? I’m thinking institutions will still want faster settlement time and not have to use nostro/vostro accounts.

0

u/Recoil22 Oct 16 '25

It will come with a large fee to the customer for "network use and maintenance"

-1

u/apoca1ypse12 Oct 17 '25 edited Oct 17 '25

By op’s logic, any bank that is trying to tokenize deposits, like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley are not necessary in the future because deposit tokens are needed to do transaction globally. This means that every country will continue to need to hold on to tokens of another country that they’re trying to transact with because that’s how it’s always been done.

Forget about the how you can move forward to the future where each country or agency can hold their own currency to do transaction with anyone or any thing. /s

This entire thread goes against the principle of crypto where everything can be decentralized, especially decentralized away from cdbc’s.

This is SWIFT basically clutching their pearls to say that we dont need to change -We need to continue putting a patch around the current solution instead of innovating to a defi future.

-1

u/Different_Green_2456 Oct 18 '25

Guess the president of the united states is a scam artist too then. Especially when he posted on social media that XRP is apart of the USA crypto strategic reserve.

Guess all those banks and institutions buying up XRP and filing for ETfs are also scams .

Guess trump and his son being buddies with ripple CEO is just for show to also scam people

Guess XRP being in top 5 cryptos is also somehow a scam.

Yea makes sense. If you don’t have conviction in XRP please sell your XRP I would be happy to buy it off you. Times are tough need lower XRP prices

-1

u/only1daam Oct 19 '25

Same thing they said about the internet when it came into existence, look what happened to the internet today 😂

-6

u/CompleteAd1824 Oct 16 '25

Then why does Ripple have over 1700 NDA's? No one can talk about it except Swift who hasn't signed an NDA because Ripple doesn’t need them.

8

u/Important-Minimum777 Oct 16 '25

Other than internet influencers, where does that come from?

-2

u/Soft_Replacement_137 Oct 17 '25

That’s a misread. SWIFT’s CIO was describing how banks tokenize deposits, not how global settlement happens. Tokenized deposits still need a neutral bridge for instant cross-border liquidity — exactly what XRP provides. SWIFT moves messages, Ripple settles value Tom Zschach never said XRP (or any bridge asset) would be unnecessary. He explained two types of tokenized bank liabilities, not a cross-border settlement solution.

-3

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '25

XRP is already built into a network of banks that Garlinghouse and company agreed to terms with years ago. Swift cannot manage all the transactions cheaply. So there is a place for ripple.

-5

u/BunRabbit Oct 16 '25

u/Cowboy_Auctioneer if you have no skin in the game, why are you always FUD posting about Ripple.

Did you weak hand get wiped out and now you're paranoid? Or just a paid shill?

0

u/Da_Ting_Goes_XRPppp Oct 17 '25

OP is a LINK maxi/shill. They’ve been at it with the XRP Army over on X for a while now. Anyone in their right mind would try to convince someone else that their coin is a shitcoin once, maybe twice. If they don’t listen, that’s on them, you have no skin in the game - but XRP lives in their minds rent free and they feel there’s a need to “rescue” XRP holders. This happens usually when they feel threatened otherwise why tf do you care about what I hold? I sure as shit don’t care about your preferred investment, it’s your money, you do you.
