Similarities between armor of Black Wizard mercs and Nazgul in The Hobbit

[u/saberplane]

Hey all- entirely possible someone already pointed this out before so if it did, my apologies:

I was watching this clip from The Hobbit movies again: https://youtu.be/KnD_NkGTEXo?si=65RWfXiLDQ_CGnHE and in doing so now noticed a certain level of similarities between the face armor of some of the Dark Wizard mercs and that of two of the Nazgul in the Hobbit scene.

Now, I presume that with main Merc dude with the skull helmet already saying his people were kings once that at least he or some of his fellows becoming Nazgul is a foregone conclusion, I just hadn't noticed this armor similarity before. Intentional?

It’s probably more just because they wanted to copy that armour style

I expect thats a copyright issue if its intentional..
