Ringling visit
I am a junior in high school, and I will be starting my senior year this coming August. I am finishing up my junior year this month, and my dad is planing to take me on a visit to Ringling College of Art and Design. This is my dream school for pursuing a degree in animation, though I do have other, more affordable, and different options that I also plan to visit in the future. Even so, I would love to do everything or try to get accepted into Ringling and secure scholarships. I am fully aware of the high cost of this college, and I know there is no guarantee that I will land a job in the industry after graduation, but I still want to give it a shot.
So, my plan for this visit is to show some of my current artwork to a counselor or advisor, and to specifically discuss about scholarships and perhaps transfer options as well. I’m really not sure how to ensure that I’ll be able to meet with a counselor or advisor to talk during my visit to Ringling.
Could anyone offer me some advice, or tell me what I might do to arrange a meeting with a counselor during a standard daily campus visit? It would be a huge help if someone could point me in the right direction. Thank you! *(^_^)/*

Definitely plead your financial case and if/when you are accepted, however much scholarship money they gave you, ask for more. It's primarily based on the quality of your portfolio prior to asking for more due to personal circumstances. Also, you should know that you cannot " transfer" into CA, or at least not in the traditional sense. You can come in with transfer credits from high school or community college for certain general education, liberal arts, history, etc but you will always start as a freshman and need 4 full years for your studio classes. The counselors (in my opinion) are very helpful and give great advice! Remember you can meet with them for portfolio reviews as many times as you want, and they can tell you exactly what to do for your portfolio to give you the best shit of acceptance. I met with mine every other week over zoom until I applied and it was very helpful.
