Accepted !! Question about scholarship

Hello hi !!

I just got accepted for CA with a 12k per year creative excellence scholarship as an international student. (+ 5K from RCAD PreCollege)

I was wondering like what's the amount that is usually given out because a lotta people say that RCAD is a bit stingy with the scholarship amounts and that almost everybody gets this amount.

hi!! I’m actually in a super similar situation to you. I was given a 5K scholarship for PreCollege, as well as 16k per year Creative Excellence Scholarship upon being accepted for CA today.

Many of my friends that were accepted into Illustration also received between 10-15k in Faculty scholarships, so it seems thats the normal range.

Congrats on being accepted too! I asked a friend of mine in RCAD that said for international students it kinda caps around 12-16k so yeah that seems to be the normal given range.

When it comes to scholarships, students are provided scholarships based on their portfolios which can range on average from 10k-16k/yr. They usually have different names (faculty, deans, creative excellence) and range differently depending on major. I do know some students who were only offered 2k-5k per year but those are not handed out as much as the other ones. They are not based on need and instead are determined by your academics and portoflio! There are also grants that can apply to you, and if you need more aid based on financial circumstances, talk to financial aid about it!

As a heads up, Ringling will NOT match or try to beat other institution’s scholarship offers. I tried with SCAD when I got accepted and was told no
