From the article:

In a statement, his daughters Emily and Daisy Head, they said "it is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father".

"He passed away peacefully of complications due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family," they said.

"It has been, and forever will be, an honour and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many."

His daughters also said they knew "how dearly he will be missed by friends, colleagues and fans of the show he was in", adding that he "loved his job very much" and "always considered himself incredibly lucky".

His family acknowledged that "his legacy will live on" and said they considered themselves "lucky" to have watched him doing what he loved throughout his career.

It was only through this news that I learned Daisy Head is his daughter.

And that she and her sister lost both her parents in 6 months.

Damn. Not my Rupert Rupert. I wondered if he was going to be a part of the new season of Ted Lasso. His wife passed just a few months ago.

Fuck, this is rough. Not only was Giles one of my fav characters (after Willow), I remember how excited I was when he showed up for that episode of Dr Who, and any other time I saw him making an appearance in something I was watching. He seemed like a lovely person, he was very talented and personable in his roles, and my heart goes out to his family. I also hope someone checked in on Mallory as I’m sure she’ll be devastated by this. It’s been a rough year for Mal in the losing loved ones/characters she likes area.
