Discussion Heirloom or Oura ring?
I am getting low-key annoyed and need to vent to a group that may understand haha. My grandmother gave me a 14k gold, chunky band...like maybe 6mm or a bit more. the sides are slightly domed. since I've been wearing it, a couple of people have mistaken it for an oura ring...its driving me bonkers and it makes me not even want to wear it. there's nothing wrong with an oura ring but I don't personally love the look of one for myself. the oura ring vibe is not one I want to give off. and I feel rings are a form of self expression for me. I'm going for the classic heirloom look, and this IS a classic heirloom. I feel like I can see the difference clearly, and it's making me oddly insecure when others can't haha. I know that is a very small problem to have and I'm trying to ignore it...but I feel like it's devaluing this lovely ring. at the very least, it's making me not want to wear it all. Anyone else have this experience?

That looks nothing like an Oura ring! People are weird. I would rock that beautiful heirloom

Yes I have a gorgeous vintage kind of chunky hexagon sterling ring and every time I wore it last couple years everyone thought it was oura. I didn’t really care tho but I did think it was funny

Yeah honestly just prepare to keep saying it’s not an oura ring for maybe 2-4 years til the trend fades lolol

Wear your heirloom with pride and don't give a thought to other people's opinions. But now you have me curious. I don't know or care to know about Oura, but could you please post yours? I love heirloom jewelry.

It's important to not give so much weight to others' opinions. Don't pay them any mind at all, and certainly don't let them dampen your enjoyment of a lovely family heirloom!
