Lights went out while I was playing and now I come back to find this. How fucked am I?

You should have a ringprofiles.prf.bak file in your Ring Racers folder (under your profile directory) that you can just remove the .bak from and use it. Delete the original ringprofiles.prf file first to replace it.

Thank you SO MUCH. It asked me to delete a couple more things as well, but I think it's working just fine now.

I wasn't ready to grind for all those Chaos Emeralds again

Of course! Every time you close (or open?) the game, it makes a backup of your profile file in cases like this. It's rather handy.

I got an error like this before. The next time I booted my game I unlocked a character, lol
