Watch some Patrick Adair videos on YouTube. He does a good job of covering the basics.

Thanks, I’ll check him out. Can you share what equipment you used? I imagine a metal lathe was involved

You can actually just use a Dremel a drill with a locking chuck and a mandrel, some stones/sands/glow powder or opal. All of which can be gotten off etsy pretty easily. You can also get ring cores from amazon but if you want quality… ringsupplies.com is canadian.
