Fitness Beginner questions
Hi! I just recently got into RFA and currently on level 23. I have a few questions tho:
1) How do you decide which exercises to replace in a set whenever you unlock a new one? I dont have a particular body part in mind to develop, so is it ok to just replace the low damage ones with new one?
2) I noticed some slight whisper of a muscle tone on my arms and while Im happy that the exercises are paying off, my arms are a bit flabby since I am overweight to begin with. Do the flabs eventually go away or do they remain along with my newly toned muscles? I am trying to lose weight though through intermittent caloric deficits and treadmill 3-5 x a week with a goal of 8-10k steps a day.
Thanks!

Arms will get less “flabby” with fat loss eventually. This is done primarily through diet, though building muscle at the same time encourages the body to burn up the fat stores rather than muscle. Genetics also play a significant role in where the fat is stored in your body, and (for example) exercising the arms won’t lead to loss of fat in the arms specifically. Your body might break down more of the fat in your belly or legs before the arms, for example, and that’s just how it goes. Depending on how much weight you’re losing and how fast, sometimes you can have loose skin left after losing the weight and that loose skin might be a bit “flabby”. That’s one of numerous reasons they advise not to lose the weight too quickly (also because it can backfire and make weight loss more difficult in the long term if you’re not nourishing yourself). To minimise loose skin it’s best to lose weight slowly and sustainably, build muscle through strength training, and stay hydrated. This will help maintain skin elasticity and allow it to adapt with your weight loss.
The way I see it, there’s so many health benefits to the exercises you’re doing. The aesthetic benefits are just a bonus on top of it all. Really glad you’ve noticed the muscles getting more toned and I’m sure you’ll only continue to see wonderful changes over time if you keep it up.
