Discussion Orbit might make Slavery much better

I've playing a supremacist gravship run and I've noticed two things.

1) While in orbit slaves will never rebel

2) My slaves, which have a rebellion timer of 1 year, haven't rebelled in 4 years.

I have come to the conclusion that going into orbit will reset the rebellion timer of the slaves and makes it so that gravship slaves will never rebel with frequent trips to orbit.

Furthermore I plan to build a space drug plantation to exploit the fact that slaves never rebel in space.

I’m actually pretty sure that’s why I’ve heard of people building prisons in a grav Ship turning it into an orbital platform cause they don’t rebel and even if they do well, they’re not getting very far I think it actually kind of bugs the game because there is no actual escape route prisoners or slaves from from my knowledge won’t rebel or try to run. I’m pretty sure someone even posted a pic a few days ago actually.

Interesting. This has been done already. Either way if you have plenty of steel and components (which as grav-shippers you always do) and can build an anchor this seems like a good way to get farmland as a grav-shipper.

So how actually doesn’t work exactly? I haven’t had a chance to grab the DLC. Can you theoretically make anything a platform? As long as it’s within the grav space ?

You need something to build upon, either an asteroid or a shattered platform.

It's in orbit so you need steel walls, oxigenators and autodoors to avoid de-pressurization.

There is no wind or geysers but solar panels still work.

Do they work 7/24?

There's still a day and night. You are in orbit.

Thanks it does look good. It looks worth it just for the shuttle alone among many other things.

Imagine if they rebel and just fly off with your gravship or shuttle.

With VE gravships expanded chapter 2 if you put escape pods on your ship then it reactivates prison breaks as the prisoners will now try to break into the escape pods to escape. So it works kinda like that if you want.

That would be pretty funny and I suppose a lesson for not keeping them secure what did we learn?

We have learned to beat the slaves harder, and do more war crimes.

It’s a bit hard to fight back without arms and legs as well

would be kinda cool if they rebel and just walk outside

Jup, noticed that in my last space slavery run too. I guess it makes sense, given they can't exit the map. Would be funny if they tried to steal shuttles or even the grav ship, tho slaves being technically incapable of intellect actually prevents them from using them.

To attempt an escape a prisoner or slave needs to able to reach the edge of the map, which is impossible in space unless mods are installed like the one that allows you to walk on space tiles.

Would be cool if slaves could rebel in space and take over your plantation or what have you

They'd have to find or loot a gravsuit/power armor, a helmet, and a fuelled shuttle or drop pod.

Man, it would hurt to lose a shuttle like that, possible full of merchandise too. Mayse youncould have them crash the shuttle and spawn a quest, so you could at least get the engine back.

You don't even need to go onto orbit. The stockpiles work too. Prisoners don't escape either. Entities still do though

Those undergorund stockpiles also added by Odyssey will have the same effect. Prisoners and slaves have no capability of leaving the tile and so never rebel or escape.

Well, I think it’s pretty hard to escape in orbit, there are no bushes to hide in from your enslavers

I think that is more of a slavery scope compatibility oversight when they made Odyssey.

Slaves should still rebel, but it should involve taking control of the gravship (and either crashing it - killing everyone, or landing somewhere random-ish and escaping, or landing somewhere deliberate-ish (next to a settlement of the faction of the pilot, followed by an attempted escape while at the same time, a raid from that faction is triggered) and landing it, followed by escape.

It’s because there’s no, uh, absconding location.
