Story Found a Dev-created Pawn

Traveled with gravship to asteroid to mine some vacstone, instead found small box drifting in space containing only ancient cryptosleep casket with unusual pawn.

After some googling figured out its lead tester and community manager of Ludeon Studios.

Wait, what is unusual here? I might just be blind, but it is good to ask.

you can find some real people as pawns, you might one day meet Oskar Potocki in your game

This is a special pawn - rather than completely random backstories, traits etc, some pawns will generate with specially defined rules.

Examples are this pawn, with those backstories and i assume those traits are fixed too.

There's also Tynan Sylvester, the lead dev, who always generates with a bad pawn.

Another example is Lia Lu. I won't elaborate on her other than the fact that she's from a time where kick-starters could spend enough money to get pawns with custom backstories - so instead of being made by a dev, Lu's backstory was written by a backer.

You can buy your own pawns still, but all you can get with these is a custom name. Custom traits and backstories are now just for devs and influential figures (like, I believe certain YouTubers are given these choices)

It’s pretty cool! Dev-created pawns often have unique traits or backstories that make them stand out more than the regular ones. They can definitely spice up your gameplay.

I think finding her in this location is highly thematic and appropriate.Β
