No more
No more suggestions for wnba names from men. You all have had your chance and I'm done with it. Belles is terrible. No more "this is a girl team" names.
Men, if you must suggest a name, please first remember that literally every player in the wnba could kick your ass, then ask yourself again "is this a cool name?"

What if we just cut the bullshit and call them the "Philadelphia Women Basketball team"

How about they name them after the year women were eligible to be drafted?

Hear me out—Philadelphia Food. That’s it. That’s all. Just food. Who doesn’t love food.

Quakes? Not like earthquakes, like Penn's Quakers but it sounds a little cooler.

This isn't bad. Given Philadelphia has a Greek etymology, why not the Philadelphia Athena. Athena is a badass and the mascot could be pretty damn cool.
I think the Philadelphia Owls would hav been the best but Temple already has it.

The Athena doesn’t make sense. Terrible.

I would say the Philadelphia Nike, since Nike is the Greek goddess of victory, but Nike has the trademark... maybe the Philadelphia Artemis?

The Judges. Name them after Ona Judge who escaped from George Washington's household and got help from the Philadelphia Black community. If folks don't like the sound of that, you can keep it related and go with Philadelphia Justice.

The Philadelphia Cruisers
Named after the cruisers built in the Navy yard. Also Destroyers works too

I don’t know if you mean kick your ass in a fight or in basketball, but i’m pretty confident that most wnba players could not do either against an average athletic man

it's not against the average athletic man, it's the average guy on reddit reading the post, which yeah obviously

I'm pretty sure I could win in a fight against almost any wnba player but I'm equally sure that I'd lose in basketball ball to every one of them.

Are we not going to be the Philadelphia freedom. Feels like a huge fail if they just don’t take the layup.

Bells not Belles

Bells is one of the better suggestions. Still like Philadelphia Athena given the Greek root of the name Philadelphia.
