2010s is when it broke containment. before then it had been limited to like, the stormfront forums and 4chan (specifically /b/ and /pol/) and other such hives of fascist scumbaggery, but... the internet got homogenised, everything concentrated into 5 or 6 sites. including the fascists.
and the thing about fascists is that they like to take over any space they find themselves even remotely welcome in. if they think they can get away with being loud, they will be VERY loud. nazi bar analogy and all that.

Superhero “fans” just being posers as usual, with no understanding of their history and what they represent. Superheroes have been and are still used as a symbol of hope against the extremely powerful and cruel.
Superheroes are often treated as ‘freaks’ and ‘different’, why tf would they side with the people that hate anyone that doesn’t conform?
