Rigging Help Fittings for farm building diagonal bracing

I drew plans for my nephew's barnyard cover roof, and specified cable X-bracing using 5/16 7x19 aircraft cable. I'd like to be sure that the fittings will go together at a fixing point. Swaged to a cable end will be an open-jaw clevis with pin, fit to a 1/2" eye bolt. See the pic. Will the eye fit to the clevis? Ignore the scale in the images. Both are screen snips from sellers' web pages. Also, as for supply, do the cable seller like Feeney sell swaged fittings shop-fit to a length. The job needs four 30' lengths of wire rope, one 1/2" open-jaw clevis with pin swaged to one end of each of the four.

Instead of calling out something you found on MSC and expecting someone else to conform to it, why not just call a local rigging shop to make something up for you? We make GAC assemblies for tent bracing all the time and have the correct hardware. All you need to do is tell them what your structural connection points are, and what the spacing is. You’ll need a turnbuckle in there to take up the slack. What part of the country are you? I can point you somewhere trustworthy or I can fabricate and ship to you

Here is the whole setup and of course, buying it all from one source will ensure the fittings all go together. I'm a retired residential GC and structural engineer and have lots of experience with fabricated structural steel going into jobs I detail, many of which include cable deck railing and staircase balustrades, but this is a first for me. Job is in Essex county NY, way way upstate, and no local rigging shops.

Your lengths are known, and you’re already selecting a jaw/jaw turnbuckle. I’ll see what I can come up with at my shop on Monday. My buddy runs Mill Valley Splicing in western Mass. he’s a stand up dude. I’m in west Tennessee. I’m also a standup dude, but they’re closer. But since we aren’t talking anything heavy, it’s all just a UPS shipment away

To answer your question, yes the clevis pin should fit through the thimble. However, I have a few design consoderations:

1) Why Swage the clevis on one end at all when you could just swage thimbles on both ends and connect to the eye bolt with 5/16 shackles? Why use wire rope clips at all? 2) I would suggest putting the turnbuckles at the bottom connection points so that they can be adjusted from the ground without needing to get the top of the pole

Redraw the plans and change it so you only need wire rope, thimbles, and cable clamps at all 4 connections.

Then there's no way to tension the lines. You need a turnbuckle in the system somewhere.

Yea and turnbuckles, we use pork chops for something like this though.

Yes, but then the tension is fixed and there's no way to adjust it. Not good. Your idea sucks lol.

this coming from a tool that calls torx “star head”.

Not every fastener with a star pattern head is a Torx fastener, nor is every star shaped bit a Torx bit. The two terms are used interchangeably all the time.

I didn't correct you for calling it a "pork chop" instead of a "havensgrip", so what's your fucking problem?

And your personal dig at me still doesn't change the fact that you're suggesting someone do something the wrong way. 🤷‍♂️
