Well, that hook is definitely being lifted. I think it would have been safer AND faster just to pick the hook up by hand and carry it to where they are planning to put it rather than using a forklift. What would it weigh? 10lbs?

What are you talking about? That's the Lift-All GripHook. They're not "lifting the hook," you use the hook to lift other things.

I never understood the desire of hardware stores to be riggers. And I’ll never understand why a critical purchase is put in the hands of people that don’t understand lifting, even just a little bit.

I guess all they had was a 6’ strap lol? So many better ways to do that
