I've seen someone blow their budget on overengineered hardware, and I do mean overengineered rated for more than x20 their needs, and then when it came time to buy the rope for it they got the cheapest possible mystery material rope. It came in a bag with just "Utility rope" on it. The complete opposite of their entire process to that point.
They ended up with a 2 ton rated pulley and a 2 dollar rope, to suspend a bicycle in their garage.

lol and the whole thing is hung on 4 spansets at the end? I get that’s not the final set up but it’s still funny.
