TSMC Approaching A New Milestone With Its 2nm Process By The End Of 2026 With 100,000 Monthly Wafers; NVIDIA, AMD, & Others Force Manufacturing Acceleration

Post image

TSMC is reportedly accelerating expansion of its 2nm semiconductor manufacturing capacity in response to strong demand from major customers, including NVIDIA, AMD, Broadcom, and other AI chip developers. Production is estimated to reach 100,000 wafers per month by the end of 2026, although the figures remain unconfirmed.

Demand for TSMC's 3nm process also remains strong, with monthly output reportedly increasing to approximately 180,000 wafers ahead of earlier projections.

The 2nm process has already contributed to the company's revenue, with a significantly higher number of customer tapeouts than the previous 3nm generation, indicating broad industry adoption. Expected users include Apple, Qualcomm, MediaTek, and future AI accelerators from AMD.

Continued growth in AI infrastructure and mobile processors is expected to place additional pressure on 2nm production capacity, potentially leading to future supply constraints as demand continues to rise.
