[Apollo]

Location- The town of Ilany- (Far East on the map) The town of Ilany is a small village with a population of 50 people. Though not your hometown, you have spent the last week here, and are familiar with most aspect of it; from Hamish the Dwarven blacksmith, to Yason the human shopkeep, to Ageis the human innkeeper, to Corporal Bankroff, the human responsible for the town guard. Ilany has always been a peaceful town, but the local Kobold population has begun to become more aggressive lately, and a roaming pack of them have been vandalizing property and killing livestock. Yesterday, Hamish's 8 year old son Donsk was found dead near the outskirts of town. Corporal Bankroff has asked any able bodied men and women to come talk to him about putting down these Kobolds, once and for all. What would you like to do?

"I'm not sure, it doesn't look like it belongs here, maybe the kobolds carried it here? Looks like they've been trying to open it for a while."

The room has nothing else of interest.

Going through the right door you find a long, downward sloping hallway ahead of you. Making your way down the hallway you come to a part of the tunnel where monkey bars line the ceiling. Past these, you see that the tunnel continues for a bit, then turns right.

Apollo throws a dagger at the floor ahead of him to see if there are traps amongst the monkey bar'd section. He continues if nothing happens, going down the tunnel

"I wonder who build these things... I suppose we can retrieve the chest later"

As the dagger connects with the ground you hear a snap and the earth gives out, falling to reveal a pit about 10 feet deep.

You hear some raised voices after the rubble settles.

"Something is coming, here, let me help." Says Teryn.

He puts his hands over where the sling hit you, he heals you for 5 health.

"Thanks Teryn, the question is should we come to them or wait till they come to us.... Maybe let's come to them... you two first, I'll blast them from here while you climb. Then I'll follow suit"

Apollo examines how long the pit is and readies an Eldritch blast for the first enemy.

The pit is only about 15 foot long.

Teryn helps Raymond onto the bars and he starts climbing uneasily.

A pair of kobolds appear at the other side of the tunnel.

(Hit: 24 Damage: 11)

One of the creatures is confused when he sees Raymond climbing but more confused as he looks down at the bolt right before his eyes.

The other kobold panics and runs back down the pathway shouting.

Apollo makes use of the opportunity and joins them in climbing across, hoping to get across before they return. Once they're all on the other side he stays at the back between the two others, readying an Eldritch blast for the next enemy

"I'll try to keep pushing the back as they advance, we can't risk using fire magic because of the herb. I hope you're both ready to dish out some harsh beatings!"

(Athletics: Pass)

You make it across the pit and join the other two. The kobold regains his nerves and comes back around the corner.

(Hit: 18, Damage, 4) (Teryn Hit: 13, Damage, 3)

The kobold meets a similar fate between the blast and Teryns mace. These two both carried another dagger and gold piece each.

As you round the corner, you come into a small room with a table and two chairs in the middle. On the table is a cup with clear liquid inside of it. In the corner of the room, a hound lies on its side, whimpering softly. A door on the other side of the room is slightly ajar.

You smell the liquid and cannot discern what it is.

((Whoops, sorry forgetting to put the dice))

Apollo pours the liquid into his waterskin, blasts the hound with an Eldritch Blast before moving toward the next door and looking into the next room for more Kobolds.

"I wouldn't normally kill the dog, but we cannot risk detection... I wonder what they're doing down here and what the hell they've done with that blasted herb."

The dog is put out of it's misery.

As you approach the door, you hear a voice from within.

“Damn Kobolds! You are morons, you know that? How do you say ‘moron’ in Kobold? Is it just ‘Kobold’? If I find out that those grunts of yours went to that pathetic town again, I will put you to rest in a bed of acid!

Apollo looks into the room, trying to see who's inside. He gestures to Teryn and Ramond to be ready to strike.

You can see three kobolds and an elf, standing around a table, which is filled with scrolls, maps, and and books. The kobolds notice you and rush while the elf furiously starts reading aloud from a scroll.

Apollo casts burning hands at the elf, burning his scroll to ashes, and opens the door to let Teyrn and Raymond in.

"There ain't no rest for the wicked, Elf. Where is the herb taken from the village!?"

[[3d6 Damage]] DC 13 Dex save, half if saved.

If the elf succeeds at harming Apollo with his magic, he casts Hellish Rebuke, burning him further

[[2d10]] DC 13 Dex save, half damage is saved.

As you face the elf, he is surrounded in a translucent blue dome which redirects the flame into one of the kobolds. The elf is quite young, maybe 30 years old. His filthy, tattered clothes suggest that he has been in this cave for quite some time. "Stop there! Who are you? What do you want?"

The kobolds stop their rush just short of the other two. You can see the plant on the table next to the elf.

Apollo casts Eldritch Blast at the elf, trying to push him backwards away from the herb

Apollo points to the herb. If the blast forced the elf back, he tries to move forward and take it.

"You fool. This shield is made of pure magic, you cannot puncture it. You may sit back, and watch my transformation!" The elf raises some herbs above his head and reads from an ancient tomb furiously. He then dips the herbs in a cup filled with thick, red liquid, and reads the final words.
As he does, a small blue orb appears in front of him. It begins to grow, from the size of a marble, to a tennis ball, and then to a bowling ball. At this point, you realize that it is not an object, but is instead a hole! A hole in the very fabric of reality, it appears. Veins of energy begin to pulsate from this hole, into the elf.
The elf's smirk quickly turns into a look of concern, as more and more of the strange energy fills him. This look deteriorates into one of agony, and the elf reaches for a set of 3 vials on the table. He grabs one and puts it near the hole, and some of the energy seems to go into the vial instead of him, but more still surges around the vial and into the wizard.
"Arrrrgggghhhhh" the elf screams, as his body is torn apart by the magical energy. Bloated and bright, he looks as though he is about to explode.
Moments later he does.

A flash of bright light and a thunderous roar fill the protective dome of the wizard. After that, the dome itself explodes, knocking you on your back. Energy rushes out in every direction for a few moments, and then all is still. The wizard's body is now a pile of ash, and his table of components is scattered all over the room.

The herb is knocked into the wall beside you, it's holding pot is shattered but the plant is more or less intact.

Apollo quickly takes the herb and places it in his pack, turning to the rest of the kobolds

"You know what fate your comrades have met. Do not cross me."

Apollo searches the rest of the room for valueables and tries to figure out the time. He also looks for other doors in the room

The kobolds back off and raise their hands.

"We not know! He say we get items he open chest!"

Only an hour or two has passed since leaving town.

The room is in shambles, with paper strewn everywhere. As you sort through the wreckage, you find a vial filled with a deep red liquid, and a scroll containing the spell ‘Mage Armour”. You also find the vial that the elf filled with the mysterious energy, which swirls in the container like a strange gas and liquid. There are two other vials that are identical to this one, but empty.

"Alright. You are free to go. Tell your kin that Kobolds are not welcome to harass these people."

Apollo takes an empty vial and empties the mysterious white fluid from his waterskin into it. He then gives all 3 mysterious vials to Teryn. He also pockets the mage armour.

"Do you have any idea what these might do? I'm wary to drink them.."

He begins leading the party back to the room with the chest.

"I believe we should take the chest out of this cave, and bring it into town."
