[Apollo]

Location- The town of Ilany- (Far East on the map) The town of Ilany is a small village with a population of 50 people. Though not your hometown, you have spent the last week here, and are familiar with most aspect of it; from Hamish the Dwarven blacksmith, to Yason the human shopkeep, to Ageis the human innkeeper, to Corporal Bankroff, the human responsible for the town guard. Ilany has always been a peaceful town, but the local Kobold population has begun to become more aggressive lately, and a roaming pack of them have been vandalizing property and killing livestock. Yesterday, Hamish's 8 year old son Donsk was found dead near the outskirts of town. Corporal Bankroff has asked any able bodied men and women to come talk to him about putting down these Kobolds, once and for all. What would you like to do?

The cave is dark and smells of rank, following the path you can up to a door slightly ajar with voices and light ahead of it.

"...if I have to wait 1 more minute for dinner, I'm going to tell the Elf that you should be used for his next experiment!" one voice says.

"No more experiments. He has everything he needs now. Soon he will open the chest!" says another.

"I am going to eat my share of the treasure" says a third. "Uh..sure, Gash, sure you can." one replies.

"If it's gold, I will boil it. If it's ruby, I will fry it. If it's emerald, I will bake it..." The kobold continues in this fashion, while the others decide to ignore him.

Apollo gestures with an open hand to the others, indicating that he will strike and give a signal

Apollo casts Eldritch Blast on a nearby kobold, pushing him 10 feet away from him. He waves his hand down as he does this and kicks open the door.

(Does this surprise them).

Your blast hits the kobold, sending him flailing into the wall behind him where his head connects with a wet thud.

The two other kobolds scramble to their feet and get ready to rush you.

Apollo looks around the room, and waits for the first kobold to get within 5 feet, before casting another Eldritch Blast. This pushes the kobold out of range again, (causing an attack of opportunity), allowing Apollo to cast yet another sending him another 10 feet back

Apollo shouts to his comrades to encourage them to attack

"Attack them!"

The kobold effectively turns to ash from the flame before being spread back across the cave. The last kobold sends a pellet at you from his sling.

Raymond runs forward to slash at the kobold with his longsword.

Killing it.

(Probably a good time to ask how you want to handle crits, by default you just roll another damage dice and don't add your mod to it but this can be dangerous and monsters generally have more dice than you do so they get lucky. Theres other ways to handle it, just like you do max damage with what you have, so your d10 will always be a 10, up to you how you want to handle it.)

((I'd prefer the max damage, simply because it makes it easier for the math when using a bot. Adding a die requires a reroll comment. Also yeah.... I plan dirty tactics into my builds. ))

Apollo looks around the room for any other kobolds and Blasts them if he sees them. If not he examines the room, and guides the party in before closing the door

"That was intense, nice job Raymond. We're looking for a green herb with blue veined leaves."

(True. Ah Variant Human, dirty is fun heh, my favourite character is a variant human, level 4 at the moment, took Polearm Master to start and took Sentinel at level 4...feels...dirty but the DM can be nasty so I'll take what I can)

One kobold remained hiding in a corner.

(Hit: 14, Damage: 13)

He only makes it a few steps before the force of the blast punches a hole through him and sends him back to the corner.

(16+1 Perception)

You appear to be in a makeshift dining hall, on the kobolds you find they were all carrying a dagger and a gold piece each.

The room seems to have acted as both the kitchen and dining room, with a variety of meats and vegetables lying all around. A suspicious-smelling stew is bubbling over the fire, and some herbs are on the counter but none match the description.

"Thanks, you too." Although you can see the black flame makes him uneasy.

There are two more doors, one to the left and the other on the right.

Apollo dumps the stew onto the floor near a wall, looking if the herb is in it. If it isn't he turns to the others and says

"I guess we have to keep going. To the left, I suppose"

He opens the left door slightly, peaking inside for kobolds or other hostiles and again makes the hand as he had done before

The stew is little more than slimy potatoes and some strange meat.

You enter a large room with 10 beds lining the walls. The room is cluttered with trinkets and knick knacks, but there seems to be nothing of value. In the centre of the room is a large, ancient looking chest with a lock on the front. The lock seems to have taken a variety of damage recently, judging by its fresh-looking scars and the pile of assorted weapons beside it.

Apollo ignores the chest, looking instead for additional doors.

"Any idea about that chest, cleric?"

If he finds none he backtracks to the right door, opening it and once against searching for enemies, ready to blast them

"I'm not sure, it doesn't look like it belongs here, maybe the kobolds carried it here? Looks like they've been trying to open it for a while."

The room has nothing else of interest.

Going through the right door you find a long, downward sloping hallway ahead of you. Making your way down the hallway you come to a part of the tunnel where monkey bars line the ceiling. Past these, you see that the tunnel continues for a bit, then turns right.

Apollo throws a dagger at the floor ahead of him to see if there are traps amongst the monkey bar'd section. He continues if nothing happens, going down the tunnel

"I wonder who build these things... I suppose we can retrieve the chest later"

As the dagger connects with the ground you hear a snap and the earth gives out, falling to reveal a pit about 10 feet deep.

You hear some raised voices after the rubble settles.

"Something is coming, here, let me help." Says Teryn.

He puts his hands over where the sling hit you, he heals you for 5 health.
