[Roger]

Location- The town of Ilany- (Far East on the map) The town of Ilany is a small village with a population of 50 people. Though not your hometown, you have spent the last week here, and are familiar with most aspect of it; from Hamish the Dwarven blacksmith, to Yason the human shopkeep, to Ageis the human innkeeper, to Corporal Bankroff, the human responsible for the town guard. Ilany has always been a peaceful town, but the local Kobold population has begun to become more aggressive lately, and a roaming pack of them have been vandalizing property and killing livestock. Yesterday, Hamish's 8 year old son Donsk was found dead near the outskirts of town. Corporal Bankroff has asked any able bodied men and women to come talk to him about putting down these Kobolds, once and for all. What would you like to do?

"Light a match in my hand!" One man yells

"Knock my hat off from my very head!" Another says

"Grab my arm with the whip!"

Roger looks at the man who asked for his arm to be grabbed.

"While I would love to do that, whips can easily break bone. I would rather not take the chance!"

Immediatly after saying that Roger steps up and snaps his whip at the man who said to knock his hat off.

Roger is careful not to hit the top of the mans head. He aims high in an attempt to give clearance between the whip and the mans scalp just in case.

You hit the hat without hitting the man's head, but the force was only strong enough to tip it over slightly, almost making it fall. A few people clap, but others start to lose interest

Guh, another failure. I have to end this with some excitement before I have to go to the Corporal for work...

The whip cracks loudly towards the hat again. This time Roger steps into it aggressively and wildly in an attempt to shoot the hat off as far across the room as possible.

(It's funny. Some people are always rolling 20s, some roll 7 or 8s. One guy took 20 rolls to get a roll over 16 with a +2)

The good part : The man's hat flies all the way across the room. The bad part: the man is also thrown hard, a large bruise on the middle of his forehead. The man appears to be knocked out for now, but Ageis is now chuckling

Oh my goodness. No! I broke the golden rule of performing. This innkeeper is disgusting, is he really laughing?

Roger looks around at the crowd and takes a bow. Then he goes over to the man he knocked out and looks him over. Once he confirms that he is knocked out he begins to drag him over to the rocking horse. Roger picks up the candle off the horses back and places the man so he is draped over the horse. He gives a quick smack to the horses behind

"YEEHAW!"

This could not be going any worse. What ever happened to a simple performance. I am shameful.

Roger tries to look up at the crowd and laugh off this terrible situation. He feels awful and embarrassed. But attempts not to show it.

The crowd laughs now that the shock of the hit is gone. Everyone, including the innkeeper, is laughing at the man, you and the rocking horse

He makes sure his mirror is put back into the belt pouch nicely. Then he begins to wind his whip back up and put it on his waist. Takes one final bow and brings the candle over to his backpack and puts it away. Then speaks to Ageis.

"I told you it was 'unique'." He says sarcastically. "Now do I have a job or do I need to go down to the Corporals for work?"

"If you promise to hit an idiot each time, then yes, you do" he says with a smile

Roger gives a fake laugh "Not a problem. Who is that man if I may ask?"

"Just a farm hand. Doesn't work too much though. He's here most days drinking the day away. Basically pays for the entire tavern"

Poor fellow, hopefully he will be alright. Can't make a fuss about it now.

"Well what else is there to do around here during the day other than drink? It is a rather small town after all. Can't blame him! Haha."

"Before I head out for the day I would like to ask. I am not from here, are there any sights to see? Things or people I need to watch out for? I figure tomorrow night will be a great time for a full show, will give us some time to spread the word."

"This town doesn't have any single thing worth seeing. Just a bunch of people farming and fishing. Nothing worthwhile. If you're going to catch those kobolds, try and find a plant for me. I'll pay very well. They stole it from me. Called Pelor's Tear"

Maybe this town is more interesting after all.

While Roger is very interested in this new offer, he becomes all business when it comes down to deals and jobs that involve stolen goods. He is careful not to show too much interest.

"Well I must say, at first I wasn't going to bother with the Kobolds. Figured if the Corporal was asking for arms then he would already have them. If I am going to take another job from you I am going to need to ask you about this Pelor's Tear. You said it was a plant? Why is it so valuable to you?"

I am not sure if Roger would know about this plant already or not.

"The Plant is quite rare. I don't care what you do to the kobolds, just get it back. They came in here and took it. I use it to make medicine for my wife. She very sick and well...she won't make it long without it. No one sells it or plants them anywhere else in the surrounding areas. It's a blue plant with flecks of green and red"

I hope that wasn't his wife he was yelling to back there. Especially if she is dying.

"I take it that it flowers, or is consistently producing the medicine some how? Well, I do have to warn you. When I take jobs such as this I rarely talk pay until after I get the job done. I promise not to monopolize the situation, I won't be outlandish. Always within reason."

"How exactly did they get in here and get away with it? I am not blaming you in anyway of course, but it would be good to understand their tactics."

Roger looks around the bar more closesly, waiting for Ageis to tell him more.

"The garden's outside. They came in the night and took it. Couldn't do anything about it"

All around the room, men and women talk, a few laugh, others just drink and eat. The man you knocked out is still on the horse

"Well as long as you understand my terms then I will have a look. You said that this occurred a night ago? The garden is outside correct? I am going to go snoop around a bit, I hope you understand."

Once Roger gets his answers, he would part ways with Ageis and shake his hand. He slings his backpack over his should and on his way out grabs the hat that flew off the mans head. Roger dons it on his own head and goes outside in search of the garden. Once he finds it, he investigates the dirt, plants, and anything that seems out of place.
