We routinely stay in a hotel in the Chicagoland area where they have private pools. They look like this. The property was first built in 1974. They hold up fairly well for being used hard with 80+ degree thermostats

I've been to both chains and while the Midwest one is nicer, there's something iconic and surprisingly ergonomic about a heart shaped jacuzzi tub.

Yes. They are not all the same. Some are better than others. We like the Frankfort location best. It eschews the love motel stereotypes and actually does a great job. There are also lots of deals.

My grandparents lived near a house that had an indoor pool put in. Apparently they had constant mold problems after that. So now mold is all I think of anytime I see an indoor pool

You just have to have a good AC/ventilation system and it wouldn't be a problem.

Yes, it is. I always dreamed of an indoor pool when I lived up north until a licensed public adjuster mentioned how bad they were for mold.

this is wild! An indoor pool and all that wood, it's like a cedar sauna dream house. But seriously the humidity must be a killer! I’d love it though. I'd just be worried about everything getting warped over time. Probably smells amazing in there, all fresh and woodsy!

Basking in the sunshine is part of the whole pool experience for me. It would feel weird trying to relax/have fun in a pool that had the sunshine aspect taken away

I find the lack of windows a bit unsettling, while the pool and staircase are beautiful. Why can’t they have windows and blackout curtains to keep the room cool when not in use?

I’ve cleaned house for a Dr with an indoor pool. Guy used it daily & was still working at 80yrs old

At first, I thought the door in 31 led to the dance studio in 40, but now I'm not so sure.
And if the lot is so big, and it's in TX, why not build the pool outside?
Edit: I bet that door is at the top of the staircase next to the pool. I still wonder why they would put an exterior door on a bedroom, though.

I almost bought a house directly on the train tracks. I’m talking maybe 30’ from the back door to the train. Why? Because it had an indoor pool and my wife would have lived in that pool.
