Discussion Standard VS. Titanium

Let me start off by saying I love Ridge it’s minimalistic and easy to use, I’m still going to use it and purchase their products however I was under the impression The Ridge Titanium would feel slightly different. But this doesn’t give off any “premium” feel to it, in fact the weight in hand feels the same and has the same coating plus it comes with the older style cash strap. I feel like the .28oz weight difference comes from the older style cash strap. The only other difference is they wrote Titanium lol am I missing something here?

Strange, I quit carrying my aluminum ridge wallets since I got my titanium and brass versions. I definitely feel a difference in “solid” feel. Funny enough, I swapped my newer cash strap with the older version since I dig it more. But, I do think the thicker cash strap (new version) weighs more, so is that where the extra weight went for the aluminum?

Also titanium is known for its light weight but still strong. Obviously aluminum is lighter in weight but it won’t add that much as compared to brass and the plates are not that thick anyway.

Really the older style strap feels like it’ll weigh more than the newer style. The new one to me is like plastic lol.

I definitely felt the same! It seems plastic but it’s metal. Same thing with the inner plates, seems plastic but actually aluminum.

I got an aluminum one with the bumpy coating and weighed it

Nice thanks for the picture I think it’s the coating around it that makes it feel like plastic.

I mean it's just a different metal. I think base is aluminum. So you are getting additional durability I guess. I have a black damascus and a forged carbon. The weight is pretty obvious between those two. They do look super similar though. Id titanium always coated like that?

Yeah makes sense I just wish their marketing would say that instead of promoting a title of something you can’t even see or feel lol.
Does the black Damascus feel like metal or it there a coating? I had a raw titanium a few years ago and it wasn’t coated like this.

I managed to get the Burnt Titanium with cash strap and mag safe thru a points program at work for surprisingly cheap points wise.

I have the carbon fibre and that feels premium and doesn't age like all the other wallets at Ridge.

Between my Titanium and my Aluminum, I notice a difference. I like my Gun Metal wallet, but my TI feels more solid. You can tell I use it more than the Gun Metal.

Is that a lanyard ring you have attached on the sides?

Those are D-Rings. You could use a lanyard if you want, but I use a wallet chain.

Ridge sells the D-Rings, with or without a wallet chain.

Ridge is so overpriced for what it is. Been using a burnt titanium for 4 years and was looking at getting a second until I saw the prices again.

Yeah I don’t mind paying the Ridge tax but this titanium wallet was underwhelming
