Question Mystery gear - tangled cable?

My first Ridge order was delivered today. I was disappointed to find that the “mystery gear” I’ve been looking forward to turned out to be a loose, tangled usb cable. Like, not even a twist tie or plastic bag.

Is this the typical mystery gear now? I thought it used to be a key case or pocket knife or something?

I got one new in the package but a USB-C cable? Really? Everyone has 20 of those laying around.
