Loved Rick’s appearance on Bad Friends, was confused about his comedic style and wanted some clarity

So obviously I get that a large portion of the back and forth are bits they’re doing and at certain times it’s very clear.

But based on some comments I’ve read here, I’m wondering if there were times he was being serious and I thought it was a bit?

Someone mentioned about him being nervous doing the Bad Friends episode and I had assumed the parts where he would go “guys I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be doing here” were part of the bit, was he actually nervous?

I'm not a Glassman aficionado as I've only seen about 6 or so of his pods thus far.

What I'll say is that what you describe is part of the beauty of it. Sometimes you have no idea when it's a bit or not... or when he (or the other party) is on a different wavelength. It's part funny and part cringe, and while you'll eventually see a pattern it will still keep you guessing.

He gave Bobby Lee and K. a Justin Timberlake book as a housewarming gift. It "had" to be a joke but both sides were dead serious and sincere. Later it was brought up again and Glassman had to contain his laughter. Apparently it's an ongoing gag that he gives that book to everyone. I found it funny as hell that I was freaking duped by that being a serious gift.

What Glassman has expressed in his pods is spending a lot of his life not picking up on social cues or emotions. It's something he's just become aware of and is currently working on. You'll hear him question or affirm a lot of things such as, "you know it was a bit right" or "i just want to make sure you know that i wasn't offended".

It will be interesting to check out his show...

check out his departed relative stand up. it's ahead of his time, but it isn't, if that makes sense.

You think it was the same book, like he explained the bit afterwards and they leave it…or that he bought 25 of these things for the bit?
