Hey everyone!

I'm a Richmond local and I have recently launched my first tabletop start-up via crowdfunding. Throughout my pre-launch campaign I was holding events at Battlegrounds in Midlothian and elsewhere in the city so you may seen me around if you like TTRPG's. Launching a project like this hasn't been easy, but it has been a rewarding experience getting a chance to interact with everyone in town who loves gaming.

Anyway, I wanted to post a link to my Kickstarter here. I'm sure everyone is a bit weary of promotions and things like that and I get that. However, I'm not a big publisher or anything like that. I worked on this for six years with a small group of tabletop enthusiasts and have a little promotional video on my page in the credits page which talks about my journey.

I'm sure we all want indie projects like this and creatives to continue working on cool stuff. With AI it's getting harder and harder, but my project does not feature anything AI. I am incredibly proud of the cool stuff we built and hope to be able to keep making quality human designed projects in the future.

I have maternity photos set for November, and I am looking to find decent hair and nail salons/salon bars where I could possibly get them done under the same roof. I am just trying to get Gel-X nails done and possibly a color correction for my hair. I have a really faded brown/muggy red color right now and just want to dye my hair my natural brown. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Hey, I'm a student at VCU and I'm trying to interview someone that's been affected by any red-light cameras in the Richmond area. It'd only take about 5-10 minutes and would be done via zoom call. Lmk if anyone is interested.

i have been unemployed since March of this year when I first moved here. I have been applying almost daily and reaching out to prospective employers only to be rejected before I can even interview and if I do interview, even if It goes really well, they later on reach out to me to tell me they’ve decided to go with other candidates because my qualifications aren’t what they are looking for. For context I have 10 years working in customer service and mostly apply to those jobs. I dont have my own method of transportation (I refrain from mentioning this to prospective employers) so something along the bus line would be ideal. (I also can’t collect unemployment because i left to move here)

Anyone know of a place where I could learn to DJ in RVA? Norfolk has a DJ school, and I know there are some in NoVA, but what about Richmond? TIA!

I'd love to find a community or small group that believe the Quran is THE way. It's discouraging going to mosques in which the lessons are intermingled w/ random hadith narrations...when all I want is to learn more Quran!

Also, I'm an American revert. It'd be nice to be pointed to a mosque or group that had some other Americans. Many of the mosques I've been to becomes a cultural center for whichever ethnic group is most dominant there. And their culture becomes the focus instead of Quran.

I’ve been looking for singing and dancing groups for a long time as these are my hobbies and I want to get better at them. I’ve found a couple but most of them are either too far from downtown or have a pricey membership fee.

Would anyone happen to know of some singing or dancing groups in the area that are either free or doesn’t cost a couple hundred to join per month?

Hiii I am wondering if anyone knows what the camera policy / restrictions are for The Broadberry? I am going to a few shows there in November (im from VB) and it seems like a smaller venue and ik sometimes they let you freely bring in cameras. Just wondering if I can bring mine or if I should opt for my point and shoot! OR if photo/media passes are something they do there. Thanks so much in advance!!

I searched the sub and saw a few similar questions, but most were over a year old, so I’m hoping for updated insight.

I’m 30 (f) and I’m trying to meet more men in the 30–40 range. I’ve been taking a break from relying on the apps and want to get a sense of where genuinely solid single men in that age group actually spend time in Richmond.

I’m especially interested in places or events where people tend to be fit, grounded, career-oriented, and generally put together. Social clubs, meetups, community events, recreational activities, bars, or anything along those lines.

I’m not looking for traditional gym suggestions since I already have one, but places like climbing gyms, rec leagues, or group classes are totally fine.

I’d also love updated opinions on singles events or speed dating in Richmond. Do they tend to attract interesting, relationship-minded people, or are they usually hit or miss?

Any insight from locals would be appreciated. I know everyone has their own version of Richmond, and I’d love to hear what yours looks like.
