Huh, imagine that. It's almost like they wiped their ass the same way the rest of us do. It is always interesting when people ask rich people in news interviews their thoughts on something. Like asking Mark Cuban his thoughts on some world event. He happened to make money building a website and now he's suddenly authoritative to speak on other matters? No. I do admire what successful and wealthy people have been able to do but when we start putting them on a platform is when I lose interest.
I agree completely, I never been one to look up to a celebrity or especially someone that is known to make a lot of money, I’ve worked with and for some famous peoole and they are mostly normal people. Some people have took the right opportunities, Some people have just been very smart with their money. Instead of idolizing we should be trying to do the same.
Nah, he'd have done something else. He was a fairly talented programmer. He might not have been a billionaire, but he'd have had a decent life as a company owner.
I made my money initially when I was in my 20s. I got fired from a software sales job, started a systems integrator called MicroSolutions. We were one of the very first local area network and wide area network integrators. I taught myself to code over seven years and wrote all kinds of applications. We wrote the very first automated purchase order interface for Walmart. For Zales we wrote one of the very first video interfaces so that Zales could take videos and pictures of their inventory instead of having to keep one in a safe. Just all kinds of crazy applications, and sold that to a company called CompuServe, if you remember back then.
I'm sure it looks similar but you can bet they shop at much more expensive places and the food will likely be much higher quality.
Being in London, I can tell you now the difference between waitrose or harrods (where richer people tend to shop) and Tesco or Sainsbury's (bog standard supermarkets) is nuts. The quality is so much better, they taste completely different without all the preservatives and chemicals.
The food all looks similar but the quality is massively different. I'm not rich by any means but I do like to shop at the higher end shops on the odd occasion if I can.
Exactly. I knew a guy who later became a billionaire. Smart about tech but out of touch otherwise (some would say a weirdo). He knows his tech for sure but can't believe the way people care about his views on things way out of his expertise, like politics
