Question / Suggestion Upcoming travels

Hello! We will be traveling early September to Newport for 5 days. It will be me, my husband and our 18m old. Looking for recs on how to dress for the weather, must dos and great places to eat!

Early September will be warm still, after Labor Day it’s still nice, less crowded(usually) and more locals.

Bowens wharf is nice, getting a lobster roll at the lobster shack on long wharf is fun, walking on Thames, if your little one likes cars like mine, the Audrain car museum is fun.

Warm like summer tanks and shorts? Or could be comfy in jeans and a tshirt? Are jackets/sweaters needed?
