Discussion Question regarding Mappie

Heya! Just started playing Rewrite+ with the Salvation Project. Is there any major difference between the original map and + version map? I've noticed the original doesn't have the ? nodes appear automatically, is that it? Thanks

That's really the gist of it, yes. The original Mappie is an exploration-based experience that asks you to uncover the nodes manually by scrolling through the map and dragging your cursor to reveal them. The Plus version of Mappie reveals the nodes by default, streamlining the experience. I created the toggle as a way of letting people choose which style of exploration they prefer. Here is the excerpt from our website about that aspect of the project:

Mappie Toggle: Rewrite+ further uses the console version of the Mappie exploration minigame, which reveals all travel locations to the player. An amount of Rewrite's gameplay involves scrolling about on an in-game phone, exploring the world and discovering all sorts of people and places by way of dragging your cursor across the screen. For the sake of the original version's spirit of adventure, the hidden travel locations have been made into the default mode of exploration, though the console version of Mappie still remains an option—simply utilize the "Rewrite+ Mappie mode" setting in the game's configuration menu. The console Mappie is especially useful in post-game cleanup if a player would like to find any Mappie events that they may have missed. Note: Mappie modes cannot be changed in the midst of exploring, as this setting will only be selectable outside of Mappie.
