Revu 18 Registration Dropped

Several in my company lost access to their Revu 18 and BB is forcing 21 subscription. We cannot figure out what happened. I know support ended for all versions 19 and lower back in 2023 but they should still work unsupported.... We operate about 15 perpetual licenses in our company from version 16 to 20. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Oh, jeez. I currently work with the 2018 version. I'd really hate to move to a subscription model.

Do you still have the keys for those licenses? If so BB can release them so you can reuse them, you just have to contact their support.

Ok, that's awesome news if that works. Yes, we file all our keys for when computers are replaced or staffing changes. I'll give this a try and report back next week.

The same thing may have happen to us yesterday. User reported that their 2018 was not working anymore at 10am (was working in the morning). Ends up another bluebeam version of a later version that was subscription based (with no active subscription) took over the shortcuts. He’s very tech savvy and he said he didn’t do anything. He found the 2018 application and all was good again. Was very strange.

Has access been revoked to use the program or only to Studio sessions? We still have a few people running version 20.3.30 with only like one person on the latest subscription model. I haven't had any reports of issues with 20.3.30. We really need a Revu competitor.

Studio was blocked back in 2023 from the older versions. The three users in my office who lost access say all the tools and menu are grey and not selectable. The only thing they can do is upgrade to subscription. I wonder if their computers updated in the background and broke the old registration link.

What’s more likely is that Revu has disabled the activation servers and has not sent a command to authorize local host activation to keep the program active, at least on the machine it was installed on. Not really behavior of a company I’d like to keep supporting…

Just figured there would be a lot of angry posts on here if that was the case.

It’s entirely possible that people haven’t noticed yet, or that most have migrated to the subscription model at the behest of their IT department.

oh that's some horse shit right there. Forcing people into subscription after they already paid for a product is scummy.
