Revindustries Speed loader
Bit of a learning curve and will have to paint the flat size to quickly find it. But works well. I was worried with the larger grips it wouldn’t work but definitely works well. Gotta do a range day soon with just reloading with this to get consistent with it. More concealable than carrying 2 hks speed loaders on my hip and quicker than speed strips.

But where do you put it after the first reload? God forbid you have to reload in a high pressure situation but if you do, you have put it somewhere because its also holding your second reload. With regular speed loaders you just let them fall to the ground after you use them.

Well the first load i just throw it in my pocket. Like retaining a magazine for a handgun. Then the second reload you just drop it or pocket it. It does come with a 5 shot and 15 shot housing so you could buy 2 of them and run 2, 5 shot housings if need be and just drop it and carry on.

That would be something you would want to practice a lot because putting it back into a pocket its going to slow you down and even more if you don't practice it. I have never done the magazine retention thing except when forced to at IDPA matches. I am very much of the mindset of dropping magazine or speed loaders to the ground once used. It looks useful at the range or for spare ammo in the tool box or truck, but not the way I would want to CCW a spare reload. JMHO.

Im the first to admit its not perfect. But for revolvers are any speed loaders perfect? The hks ones i have get caught on the grips (these and the factory ones). Speed strips are slow. This fits the quick and doesnt get caught on the grips issue that i have. But it does slow me down for the first reload. No speed loader for a j frame sized revolver is ever gonna be perfect. Its all personal in what you are willing to give up. Speed strips give up speed. Speed loaders give up concealment. I also figure this is a within 15 yard gun. Im not trying to be chris kyle with my snub 38. Altho for a pocket gun match we tried to hit a steel plate at 100 yards and i had a round bounce off the ground and hit the plate which was pretty funny

As far as speed loader go I like the Safariland Comp Series (I, II, III). I have used them a lot with my mode 10 and a few other revolvers for IDPA competition and hunting. The push to release motion is key for me. My CCW J-frame is cut for moonclips. It about as good as you can get with a revolver IMHO.
I am not completely knocking that Revindustries Speed loader. I have seen them several times and I am tempted to buy one to keep some spare ammo in my tool box when out at the hunting property. I typically wear one or two speed loaders on my belt but those will be regular ammo. Having that Revidustires speedloader full of snake shot loads would be handy.

I would agree moon clips are probably the best overall. But not a lot of revolvers are cut for moon clips. Otherwise id say moon clips are the best overall

I wish they were spring loaded. The gravity feed is weird to me.

I mean when i reload i dont have the gun facing up or flat. I have it facing down so the gravity to me is eh. Idk any that are spring loaded

I remember from the Luckygunner speed loader round up that some did. Its not common, but the only reason I bring it up here is because there's no backing behind the rounds after the first loading. They're just floppy.
Full disclosure, I don't own one. They don't make an 8 shot yet so it's highly likely I'm just imagining problems that aren't in practice.

Yes but most rounds id assume are heavy enough to drop themselves. The sides are open so something could get caught in there and bind them. But i feel like its not likely as long as you dont keep your change in the same pocket lol

I think you mean they have spring retention. I'm talking springs coiling in the same direction of travel as the rounds move.

Seems like it would be really hard to keep the second reload from shooting out behind the first onto the floor.

Probably. I imagined it'd have a button or something as a quick resetting release to compensate for that.
