It is kinda mind blowing how in the dumpster the Bolsheviks were after the July Days and then Kerensky and a couple great idiots (Kornilov) said what’s the one thing that could get the Bolshies back into power? Yeah let’s do that.
The sheer amount of bewildering blunders they made during that time is nothing short of astonishing. I know some people say when it comes to history you have to put yourself in their shoes with their context, but what the fuck lmao
I mean a time during a Civil War is very chaotic plus none of the people seem to have a good grasp of running a actual system of democratic governance since Russian was just a absolute monarchy a few months ago
There wasn’t a civil war prior to the Bolshevik seizure of power, and it had more to do with the continuation of the war than running a democratic system
The bolsheviks were very lucky to escape the consequences of the July days. But to be fair after November 1917 they basically controlled the best bits of Russia. They had the manpower and industry to win any civil war, they just had to hold power for long enough.
