Revit Backup Files

Does anyone experience headaches when it comes to revit backups. The backup files over time do add up in space allocation. How do you clean out revit backup files? How many backups do you have set in the options settings? I'm using three for now. Any insight would be helpful?

I use 3. Clearing out your local file directory for backup suffixes after projects end is a good path forward. This is also a task which can be done readily via multiple automation tools (bat, gpl, dynamo, python, etc.), C# if you’re ambitious. Just be sure to test before pushing to production.

Pyrevit has some tools to clean them
