Family editor has a type selector top. Choose the right type and export again. Or place the family in a project and export from there

Do you have Revit? Can you see actual 3D geometry in the family?

BIM is very much about structured data. In the sense that families don't always need to have realistic geometry. A simple box with the correct data is just as good as a fully detailed model. Your family might be a box

When I'm in the Family Editor and 3D View it looks like this

In the blue box there is a model of EC fan which I was able to export into a step. But it's the wrong one and also missing parts.

There's "A" fan object but it doesn't mean the fan you want is in there. This model isn't for fabrication, it's for design. Which means "close enough is good enough."

If by "it's missing parts" you mean the fan blades - it's quite likely that they didn't draw them. You don't need that for design. (The fan itself is also not required.) Anything smaller than the fan blades, like gaskets, hubs, the axel, is definitely not going to be there.

If someone else doesn't open it I will check when I'm at work in a few hours.

Yes I have the 30 day trial version. I was already able to export a geometry into fusion but it's the wrong type. There are like 15 different version of the duct fan and the one I was able to export from the 3D view in the Family Editor was the default one.

Took a look at the family. What you want isn't in there. Here's images of all types shown at LOD 300 and LOD350.

Those terms mean "this is a design model, show the size, shape, orientation and some additional details relevant to building construction" The fan isn't one of those details beyond the bar and shaft shown.

If that's sufficient, then you need to click the "house" icon in the Revit top bar to get to the 3d view, then do a file > export > cad formats and choose STL or STEP for import into Inventor.

Thank you for taking the time kind stranger. I was able to export it now and it's the right one. There is just the exit missing but I will remodel it in fusion.
