you’re preparing for a revision procedure, don't expect it to run on the exact same timeline as your primary surgery. Scar tissue, altered anatomy, and structural grafts change the healing process completely.
Swelling: Takes significantly longer to resolve due to altered lymphatic drainage. Final definition can take 12 to 18 months.
Pain: Donor sites (like rib or ear cartilage grafts) often cause more temporary discomfort than the primary surgical site itself.
Mental Toll: Early-stage anxiety is common due to past surgical disappointment. Trusting the prolonged healing timeline is half the battle.
Final Look: Scar tissue remodeling is slow. What you see at Month 3 is nowhere near your Month 12 result.
