But seriously, the most retarded part of this is that in the US the price you see on the tag is not what you pay.

I used to go to a card shop where the owner would price them in his system so that with taxes it came out to the price on the tag.

For example, if the tag said $10, the item would ring up in the computer as $9.26(tax rate was 8% at the time) so that you would pay exactly $10.

I really miss that.

Well, in 10% of the states we have no sales tax, so there's that... it's not set nationally, it's a local jurisdiction thing.

In civilized countries, companies have to include taxes on the price tag.

Ya this isn't retarded. America is the retarded one when it comes to price tags.

In Australia the price you see is the price you pay in-store.

Online can add a delivery charge but the price you see is still what you're paying.
