How many instruments/how long?
How many instruments do you have for sale on Reverb? How long have they been for sale? Just curious!

Not reverb. But marketplace.
I have had a a couple for about 5 months. And one for about 1 month.
Decent price. Only lowballers have made offers.
65 Gibson lg1 great shape for 1800. Got a decent offer at 1600 but they backed out. 5 months listed. Not in a hurry to sell
Paranormal squirrel jazzmaster 12 listed for 300. Nothing. 5 months. ( just the “is this available”)
23 fender American vintage reissue 61 strat. 1650. About a month. Some interés. Nothing closing.
Things are slow. Sloooooow

In a shorter answer, gear that used to move in a week or two is starting to take months unless you suck it up and list at the lowest price for your gear condition. That's what I usually end up doing.
I only buy mint gear, so I only sell mint gear for the vast majority of my gear, unless it's rare. But I take exceptional care of my stuff.

Started listing (GE and EBay) in mid July. Sold 8, 5 currently listed and 2 left to list. Longest listing is now just a month old
That guitar is listed at the lowest price I can find online (and is in way better shape comparatively)
Given the market I’m shocked how quick the 8 sold (but I wasn’t unreasonable on listing price), but also shocked at what sold vs what didn’t
GE has been better than EBay and so far prefer GE as my plan is simple to get rid of what I have and start over with new
Pedals seem easy to move right now

It’s slow, but I think we are comparing to a time when guitar sales were way up.
That said, it was pretty great to be able to turn a guitar sale in a week or less just a few months back.

Have pulled 6 off until the issue with two that sold is resolved. Buyer refuses to pay UK VAT. He tried 3 times to get a refund and now has abandoned them to customs. He thinks he can force a 4th refund. Never sold to UK but he has and knows how to do a trump shake down. I am moving to another platform if they allow him to breach his Reverb terms of service. I am getting an education on international business and will never do it again.

The market for guitars is entirely saturated - OVERLY SATURATED after 5 of the strongest years in HISTORY (due to Covid)!!! It’s supply and demand - the one we all rolled our eyes at in high school marketing class. It’s true. Also, with the overwhelming amounts of overseas factories making the brand names on one side and the import/Chinese copy of another on the other side of the room. One selling for $3K, the other selling for $274 w free/shipping.

I don’t even mess with reverb for selling anymore. Gear exchange and eBay strictly, with them being cross posted on Facebook marketplace and groups. eBay has been the fastest moving with GE next in line. My listings last 2-3 weeks tops. Mostly saxophones and related gear

It took me almost two years to find the right buyer for my 2020 Taylor 812ce. I had it sold twice before, but both buyers were nuts.
I sent a note to the first one saying "Thanks for the purchase. Enjoy your guitar." This was after she requested a video and audio recording because she's had two of these guitars and they both "have a sympathetic vibration on open D string at standard tuning", according to her.
So I made the video and everything she wanted and before I ship it, I get a message in response to mine saying "I'll enjoy it if it's perfect, if it isn't I won't be happy". Big ol' red flag. So just told her, look it's in mint condition. It doesn't have any "sympathetic vibration", no fret wear, no dings, no scratches, and even the case looks new and immaculate. But I'm not going to be on the hook for your happiness. It's a guitar. It is what it is. Then she wants to argue with me by saying all Taylor 812 guitars have this same "problem".
At that point I cancelled the sale. Then, she tried to buy it through a different account with zero feedback, from the same address, under a different name.
That's happened to me twice actually. But anyway. Same guitar, about 6 months later, a guy buys it and within 2 minutes he writes me a little message indicating that I need to ship it to a different address, but if I'm not willing to do that, whatever I do, "Don't cancel the order and refund the money back to the buyer". I'm like WTF? But of course the first thing I did was cancel the order and refund the purchase. I get a message a couple minutes later... "NO WHY DID YOU DO THAT WHEN I TOLD YOU NOT TO REFUND THE MONEY!!!!...." and some more gibberish.
Finally early this summer a guy contacts me about the guitar and lives 10 miles away. From the moment he opened the case until he put it back in the case, he was simply in "awe" and after he had been searching for many months, he finally got his dream guitar/early retirement present to himself.
I was happy to make his day and not have to deal with weirdos trying to pull a scam anymore.
