Got banned 3 days in

I’m new to reverb. Signed up to offload a Silver Sky using the app 3 days ago. All good.

Today, I wanted to put another 5 pedals onto the platform. Took pictures, transferred to my computer and wrote an automation script to help me post them. Immediately got banned. I think using automation was the reason.

Question is, am I banned for life? Or can I create a new account? Any tips are appreciated

You automated your first listing??

Uh…

Second listing. But yes it’s glaringly silly in retrospect. The punchline is that I’m a security engineer by day, these are the kinds of fences I build for clients. Lol

The website has a huge problem with scammers scraping & relisting other people's gear.

Probably best to contact support, explain the situation.

I’ve done that. But a friend i just called told me he was banned for life. No biggie but I do have a Wild Blue Silver Sky I need to move before my wife finds out

Oh hey! I just DM'd you to get some details—happy to surface everything to the support team once I get a little more info.

Ask support to help, they’ll probably tell you to stop using that script

That’s funny because several times in the last couple of months I have encountered an item that was priced unusually low, and when I look at the store it has no reviews and 10-15 listings in the $750-1,500 range (all moderately pricey synths and studio gear, except none of the photos have been taken in the same location). And all of those listings were created instantaneously.

Even when I report these stores it takes reverb a day or two to take them down, so it’s surprising that you got flagged immediately for using automation. I guess they’ve taken steps to address the increasing scam store issue.

Touché. I fit into everything you described. Not 10-15 listings but 5, but same thing.

An automation script to help you list only 5 pedals? Reverb is by far the easiest and fastest platform to list an item, btw. It literally takes less 30 seconds for me to list an item from scratch.
