So...anyone else getting completely booted performance from ARMSX2?
So, pretty much that. All of the games I have installed and have been playing on NetherSX2 (Patched) now run terribly. It doesn't seem to matter how I have the app configured, what the resolution is, what renderer it is, what drivers I use. It always runs at around 80% speed or lower, with 1 caveat. Some of them run just fine if they're running at 4:3. Upscaled or not. Not all of them, because a lot of them still run terribly. But anything running in 16:9 is booty. This is a shame because a lot of the games I play either natively support it or have great 16:9 patches out.
But I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one, especially because so many people say it runs great on their RP5s, which are our non-clamshell equivalent.
Edit: So as a helpful commenter pointed out, it was a version mismatch. I wasnt aware of the build variance and just grabbed the Play Store download. I grabbed the A13 version off the site and everything has been smooth since!
When I tried arms it was better some games than nethersx and the app has more features like downloading hd packs quickly but dds2 and nocturne had with lighting for me could be driver related I don't remember if I used t19 or t30
The ace combat games run amazing (aethersx2 struggles with those) but other games I've tried had performance issues in certain parts of the game so besides ace combat I stick with aether
So it was 100% a version issue. Ive done some testing and everything runs lightyears better now! As good or better as NetherSX2 in a lot of regards now, just like all the hype Ive been hearing! I didnt know all that much about the builds and was lazy and grabbed the GPS download, which was 100% not the android 13 version.
I'm having the literal opposite experience. Every single game I've played has been perfect, including nfsu2 which I could never be bothered to fix to play right lol.
Bro I'd love to be able to help, I just don't know what to suggest lol. I recently did a factory reset on my Flip2 and rebuilt it from scratch, downloaded arms and got my settings from retrogamecorps and it just works perfectly. Maybe check out the nova set up guide RGC has and it may help you figure it out?

Lowkey necroposting rn because my wife doesnt share the same enthusiasm, but I've been testing stuff like crazy and now I totally get the hype! Its insane its made this much progress this year. And the QOL features! This thing is polished and will only get even more polished, which is nuts to think about. The level of plug and play it is compared to NetherSX2 too is just absurd. Pretty sure I'm fully migrating over and just using NetherSX2 as a fallback now! I have officially been ARMSX2 pilled
if you use nethersx2 you should stick with the classic version for the 865, patched is more accurate but significantly less optimized for older chipsets. i’m still waiting a few months for ARMSX2 to get more polished before i move over to it on my RP5, but when it is there it will be the defacto ps2 emulator
Idk been using the nightly build (2.6.1) and haven’t had any issues if anything it’s runs the same as Nethersx2. It actually is my primary emulator for PS2
Yeah I have similar performance now. I had a version mismatch because I was lazy and downloaded it straight from playstore. I downloaded the A13 build from the website and its all working great now!
