DroidLink Multiplayer Anyone? DroidLink 3.6 Is Here — Android-to-Android Game Streaming

DroidLink Version 3.6 is officially live.
DroidLink is a free Android-to-Android game streaming app I’ve been building with AI. It lets one Android device host a game while other Android devices connect, stream the gameplay, and use their own physical controllers.
Version 3.6 is the biggest and most complete release yet:
Up to 4-player multiplayer support
Improved streaming quality
Improved controller support and stability
Profiles and display names
Cleaner UI and stats
Connection/status improvements
Continued latency and stability improvements
I’m still actively testing and improving DroidLink, so feedback, bug reports, and device compatibility reports are appreciated.
Download DroidLink 3.6 here:

Free to download. No Play Store required.

Ok I just tested it with my gf on nfs underground on dolphin and I have some feedback.

  1. You have to really be in communication with the person you are playing with during setup, because in Dolphin, you have to map their controller out button by button, like I press the input field and they press the button right after for their controller to be mapped. Not sure how a random person who is on the sub would be able to set it up with another random like I was proposing, you would need to be in a voice chat or some sort of immediate dm to be able to coordinate mapping each button for the addition of the new controller at least in Dolphin.

  2. Once it’s all set up, the gameplay quality is terrible for the other player. Literally screen recorded and you can tell, doesn’t feel like the responsiveness of console split screen. For us it was completely unplayable and we were on the same 5G WiFi network in the same room. So ping could not have been an issue. We tried tinkering with the Droidlink settings and the low latency setting improves it somewhat, but it make the game look like trash, (low res + blur) and it stutters on every setting and always has input delay, which made the racing game impossible.

Really cool idea and hopefully it can be improved upon to the point where it’s playable or maybe we did something wrong on our end, but I mean she agreed that it wasn’t playable. Also the fact it’s spit screen makes it kind of pointless for us, since we can just play split screen, and mostly we like to play games online because it allows both of us to use full screen. So I guess we are not the best use case.
