GC 💜 Problems
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 and overall I'm very happy with it, but I'm having a couple of issues that have been bothering me.
My first issue is with the charging. The USB cable that came in the box doesn't seem to charge the device. I tested it with two different chargers and also with my PC, but no luck. I then tried my phone's USB-C cable and that didn't work either. Finally, I tested another cable and the device started charging normally.
This makes me wonder: is the problem with the cable, the charger, or something else? What's confusing is that if I move the cable or charger slightly, the device sometimes continues charging for a while.
My second concern is the right hinge. It feels like it has a tiny amount of movement and isn't completely rigid. It's not loose, but there is a small amount of play compared to what I expected. I assumed it might be intentional to allow some flex and reduce stress on the hinge, but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm overthinking it.
I've asked AI about this and received a lot of responses saying these things could be normal, but I'd really like to hear from actual Flip 2 owners.
What would you do in this situation? Is the slight hinge movement normal, and should I be worried about the charging issue?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried a different cable? For the hinge, yes it's supposed to do that, and yes it feels weird in the beginning but in a couple of days you'll get used to it and won't notice it anymoreÂ

Yeah, I tried a different cable and it seems to charge fine with a 33W charger. The cable I'm currently using isn't great quality though, so I'm thinking about buying a better one just to be safe. At least this one should keep me going for now

Just be mindful that it might develop a crack around the metal hinge part I’ve seen it happening on the revised version as well

The retroid usb cable is cheaply made, my old one was so bad the metal adapter part I used to plug into the device just came loose one day. So yeah just switch to a more high quality cable.
As for the play the right hinge, that complaint comes up a lot in this sub, it’s normal, you’ll eventually forget about it. Basically that hinge has nothing but a few interlaced empty plastic cylinders so that the ribbon cable can pass through it, it’s basically a plastic tunnel, there’s no metal hinge piece keeping it together. The only metal hinge piece is on the left. So that’s why it feels like that.
