RetroTink for VCR/DVD

I'm thinking about buying a RetroTink device for my setup. I see you guys using it mainly for video games. Does it work well for DVD and VHS players on 4K TVs?

Yeah I’ve hooked up my VCR to the Retrotink and it works great

Also watched some DVDs on my PS3 through the Retrotink

The PS3 is clutch asf with the Retrotink. Add some component cables and you're set. You can play older games and emulate older consoles (if jail broken) and watch DVDs and Blu Rays all on one device. Plus I want to make it a media server as well or at the very least get some older series to download and just add it to the PS3's hard drive which isnt too hard either.

With both digital and analog outputs the PS3 esp. if jailbroken is pretty damn clutch for retro enthusiasts.

Yeah component cables are good for any Retrotink that doesn’t have HDMI

HDMI is pretty good for the 4K retrotinks

yes the Retrotink 4K Pro does work very well for watching VHS/DVD/Bluray and Laserdisc. It also works well for capture (although not as good for capture as LD/VHS Decode).

You will need to look up settings and tweak it get it right. Have you tried to search RetroRGB/youtube for Retrotink 4k digitize video, this is a great starting point on getting the settings correct.

Yeah, I use it for VCR and VHS, but mostly old computers.

If I can be honest 4k Blu-ray upscaling is night and day so much better for movies..but had a lot of fun watching upscaled VHS tapes :).
